This month, Preferred Hotel Group™ will once again attend ITB Berlin, 7-11 March 2012 (Hall 9 at Booth #212) – the world’s largest travel trade show – re-emphasizing its global commitment to the industry and its members. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, John Ueberroth and President Lindsey Ueberroth, will be on hand to meet with industry professionals and members of the media.

Global Growth

Preferred Hotel Group represents more than 600 independent hotels and resorts in over 70 countries across the company’s six distinctive brands: Preferred Hotels® & Resorts, Preferred Boutique™, Summit Hotels & Resorts™, Summit Serviced Residences™, Sterling Hotels™, and Sterling Design.

In 2011, Preferred Hotel Group expanded its global presence into ten new countries and now includes member hotels in Angola, Denmark, Iraq, Israel, Maldives, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Russia, Sri Lanka and Zambia.

During the first two months of 2012 Preferred Hotel Group has already added 18 new hotels and resorts to its global portfolio, and entered the flexible-stay market with a new brand, Summit Serviced Residences. A selection of the company’s newest members include Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto, Toronto®, Ontario, Canada, a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts; La Mision Hotel Boutique, Asuncion, Paraguay, a member of Preferred Boutique; The Alex, New York City, New York, a member of Summit Hotels & Resorts, and Seven Hotel, Paris, France, a member of Sterling Design.

Two New Brands Join The Family

In February 2012, Preferred Hotel Group announced its entry into the expanding luxury serviced residences market with the company’s new brand –Summit™ Serviced Residences. Summit Serviced Residences offer business travellers on temporary assignments, relocating executives, and family travellers with exceptional services and luxury accommodations with the comforts of home. Summit Serviced Residences collection includes properties from AKA, a leader in the luxury long-stay market, with locations in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Arlington and Virginia. Currently, Preferred Hotel Group is actively developing Summit Serviced Residences in Europe and Asia.

Preferred Hotel Group also launched Sterling Design, a new brand which showcases chic style and sophistication that is accessible for any budget. Sterling Design showcases a collection of contemporary, design-led properties that appeal to the savvy holiday planner as well as the discerning business traveler. Members include Mon Hotel, Paris, France; Hotel Florida, Lisbon, Portugal and Olivia Plaza Hotel, Barcelona, Spain. High-tech amenities, an emphasis on entertaining public spaces – brilliant lobbies, trendsetting bars, and hip restaurants – and an appreciation for art and design characterize this collection of chic, stylish, and smart independent hotels. Embedded in both brands are the company’s legendary Preferred Standards of Excellence™, providing guests the confidence and reassurance they seek when traveling.

Two New Consumer Marketing Programs

In addition to two new brands, Preferred recently launched two significant niche marketing programs based on strong trends in both the family and the LGBT markets – Preferred Family, a certified collection of hotels and resorts that enable parents to evaluate a hotel based on specific age groups, services, and offerings and match it against their families’ own needs and interests; and Preferred Pride, a distinctive collection of independently owned and operated hotels that understand and cater to the specific needs of the LGBT traveler. Today we have over 100 hotels in the US, Europe and Asia participating in the program in the Preferred Family and 100 hotels in Preferred Pride.
