The awards keep coming to The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, as the resort has captured another prestigious award: ConventionSouth magazine’s “Readers’ Choice Award” for 2011. The award will be presented to Jason Parsons, general manager of the 317-room newly renovated resort, which is Southwest Florida’s only resort directly on the beach with an on-site championship golf course, a world-class spa, and an award-winning tennis center. The 125-acre resort features 34,000 square feet of meeting and event space that is further complemented by several beautiful outdoor venues.
Considered one of the most prestigious awards in the meetings industry, ConventionSouth magazine’s “Readers’ Choice Award” recognizes the South’s finest meeting hotels and resorts, convention & visitors bureaus and meeting sites, as nominated and selected by the magazine’s readers. Winners were selected based on their high standard of professionalism, creativity, and quality of service. The magazine, which is the #1 national meetings publication focused exclusively on the South, will recognize the winning hotels, resorts, CVBs, and meeting sites in the December 2011 issue.
This award follows such other recent honors bestowed on the resort as Successful Meetings’ “Pinnacle Award,” Meetings Focus South magazine’s “Best of the South Award,” and Wine Spectator magazine’s “Award of Excellence” to the resort’s beachfront restaurant HB’s on the Gulf.
“We’re honored to receive this acclaimed award, as it recognizes The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club as one of the South’s finest meeting resorts,” said Parsons. “Receiving the award shows what an outstanding choice the resort is for meetings, conventions, and any type of group program.”
Continually enhancing its already-impressive offerings, the resort has completed its latest phase of renovations, $40 million thus far. The multi-phase project included guest rooms, suites, golf course, expanded Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, and the addition of a new beachfront pool complex.
“We have been working hard for the last few years upgrading our property at a time when many had to postpone or cancel such projects,” said Michele Marsee, Director of Sales & Marketing for the resort. “We want to make a statement to the meetings industry about our commitment to providing a great product and still represent great value.”
To further showcase all of the changes made, the resort recently unveiled a brand new website at www.naplesbeachhotel.com .
“The site focuses on the photography,” said Marsee. “After all it’s the location and amenities that grab people’s attention. However, the site is also very interactive, resourceful and environmentally friendly, particularly for the meetings industry. Beyond information, meeting planners can find our fact sheet, rack brochure, sales kit, photo gallery for their marketing efforts, banquet menus, resource guide and production manual. Everything one would need when planning a program for our property. By making all of this information accessible in one easy location we can reduce the amount of printing, storage, and waste for both parties. Not to mention the time saved. The environmental footprint impact is important to our overall strategy as a Florida Certified Green Lodging member and further complements our efforts best recognized by Collier County presenting us with the ‘Green to Gold’ award for overall environmental leadership within our community.”
Owned and operated by the Watkins family for 65 years, the resort features such on-site offerings as: 1,000 feet of pristine white-sand beach; a par 72 championship golf course; a world-class Spa; a complete fitness center; the Mary C. Watkins Tennis Center with six Har-Tru courts; and an Orchid House, home to 3,000 tropical plants.
In addition, guests can take advantage of four great restaurants, including the beachfront HB's on the Gulf, and the Seminole Store that serves deli sandwiches, ice cream, gourmet coffees and a variety of freshly baked pizza, pastries and desserts in a café atmosphere. The resort also features multiple bars.
Meeting offerings include 22,000 square feet of meeting space in The Clubhouse, which provides an impressive view overlooking the championship golf course. Venue options at the resort include the 6,283-square-foot River of Grass Ballroom, the 2,457-square-foot Mangrove Ballroom, and such scenic outdoor venues as the Watkins Lawn.
The resort is just blocks from Naples’ renowned shopping districts of fashionable 5th Avenue South and historic 3rd Street South. Venetian Village, Waterside Shops, Bayfront and Tin City are minutes away.
Groups and guests can experience the area by taking tours of the Everglades, Caribbean Gardens, Corkscrew Swamp, The Botanical Gardens, or the Conservancy Nature Center. In addition, boat and fishing trips can be arranged at the hotel. Other leisure time activities can include Naples’ outstanding museums, theatres, and art galleries.
