Welcome the year of the Golden Rabbit to the beat of the drums and a string of irresistible deals rolled out by Orchard Hotel Singapore. Enjoy a Lion Dance performance at the Hotel’s main entrance on the first day of Lunar New Year (3 February) at 9.30am.

HUA TING RESTAURANT (Level 2)
Usher in the Spring Festival, with prosperous dishes prepared by our kitchen maestro at award-winning Hua Ting Restaurant. Set menus with traditional Lunar New Year favourites are injected with signature dishes and ingenuity to add to the experience. Diners can feast on exquisite Chinese dishes such as Roasted Boneless Suckling Pig marinated with fermented bean paste; Braised Baby Superior Shark’s Fin with Conpoy and Golden Mushrooms, Braised Whole Abalone with ‘Fa Cai’, Dried Oysters and Seasonal Greens; Tiger King Prawn prepared in two ways; Wok Fried Glutinous Rice with Chinese Sausage and Waxed Meat. Crowd pleasing desserts such as Snow Skin Custard Cake accompanied with Deep-Fried Nian Gao with Yam, Sweetened Eight Treasures Tea with Sea Coconut and Glutinous Rice Ball, Chinese New Year Petite Four will be served.

NEW CREATION
Fresh out of the Wok is a new dish by Masterchef Chan Kwok! Braised Brocolli stuffed with Scallop Paste topped with Crab Roe has an auspicious name: 万花吐艳红 (Wan Hua Tu Yan Hong), which means beautiful flowers with a touch of red. And it is a culinary delight which tantalises the tastebuds! The dish is available from 3 January 2011 and priced at $12.

Hua Ting’s Prosperity Set Menus start from 17 January to 17 February 2011 at $95 or $138 per person (minimum 2 diners), $328 or $388 for 4 persons, $588 for 6 persons, $688 for 8 persons, $788 to $8888 for a table of 10 persons. An advance order of one week is required for the $8888 set menu. Reunion Lunch is served from 11:30am to 2:30pm on Mondays to Fridays and 11:00am to 2:30pm on Saturdays, Sundays, Eve of Public Holidays and Public Holidays, while Reunion Dinner is from 6:30pm to 10:30pm daily.

“Fa Cai” LO HEI
Celebrate the age-old tradition of starting a reunion dinner by tossing for an abundance of wealth and longevity with Hua Ting Masterchefs’ Yu Sheng creations available from 3 January 2011. Popular favourites include Fresh Salmon “Lo Hei” Yu Sheng ($52 for small and $98 for large) and Sliced Abalone “Lo Hei” Yu Sheng ($72 for small and $138 for large). Alternatively savour Fresh Hamachi, Salmon Roe & Crispy Fish Skin Yu Sheng ($88 for small and $168 for large) or for a gourmet experience, opt for Live Australian Lobster, Fresh Salmon & Abalone “Lo Hei” Yu Sheng ($388 for 10 persons).

PROSPERITY OFFERINGS
Present your loved ones and business associates with boxes of freshly baked bite-size pastries such as Pineapple Tarts ($28.80) and Walnut Pastries ($28.80). Alternatively a refreshing take on classic flavours include Hua Ting’s Golden Pumpkin “Nian Gao” ($23.80) and Cinnamon Blossom Water Chestnut Cake ($20.80). In addition to the petite delights, toss your way to good fortune with the various options of Yu Sheng. Fancy this: a wooded tub filled with premium delicacies simmered for hours. Order the traditional “Pen Cai” ($298 for small and $538 for large) to complete a reunion meal!

Gather your family and friends for a reunion at Orchard Café! A string of Lunar New Year delights for your picking include traditional Fatt Choy with Dried Oysters, Braised Sea Cucumber with Black Moss & Mushrooms, Double-Boiled Shark’s Fin Crabmeat Soup, Herbal Drunken Live Prawns and Braised Pork Belly. Toss to a good year ahead at our “DIY Yu Sheng prosperity corner”. Sweet corner will roll out Chinese Pan-Fried Nian Gao, Sweetened Red Bean and Lotus Seed Soup, Chilled Honey Sea Coconut, Assorted Chinese New Year Cookies and more.

Orchard Café’s Prosperity Buffet is available from 17 January to 17 February 2010 for lunch at $42.80 per adult, $26.80 per child from 11.30am to 2:30pm and dinner is at $52.80 per adult, $31.80 per child from 6:00pm to 10:30pm (except 2 to 6, 9 & 17 February at $58.80 per adult, $31.80 per child for lunch and from $68.80 per adult, $36.80 per child for dinner).

Each table will receive a pair of prosperous mandarin oranges while children will be given red packets with Pineapple Tart Gold Bars while stocks last.
