With Beach Guarantee, Starwood Guests Get Full Refund If Beaches Are Shut Within 20 Miles
A pair of offers from Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) is making the Gulf of Mexico's natural beauty and historic sites more accessible for leisure and business travelers this summer.
With the Better Tomorrows package, for every night a guest stays at a coastal Starwood hotel, they can enjoy the next night for up to 50 percent off. The package is available through December 24, 2010 at participating properties across the Gulf region.
Starwood is also introducing a Beach Guarantee policy to ensure a relaxing stay at selected hotels throughout the Gulf region. Guests will be eligible for a full refund of unused nights if a government agency closes a beach within 20 miles of the Starwood hotel where they have booked.

"Guests know that the region's always a terrific value at this time of year, and they're learning that the majority of local beaches haven't been directly affected by the spill," said David Marr, Senior Vice President, Brand Management for North America at Starwood. "Travelers heading to the Gulf region for leisure or business can trust Starwood to make their plans relaxing and worry-free."
To date, there have been no known official oil spill closures, advisories, or notices in Florida, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council, which has posted an interactive map of Gulf-area beaches on its web site.
