Women Football Fans Gather in Washington, DC to Tweet “Live” about Pre-season Games
“It’s a first for our new Courtyard by Marriott lobbies – a TweetUp,” said Brian King, vice president and global brand manager, Courtyard by Marriott. A TweetUp is when a group of twitterers “meet up” and tweet. This weekend a group of women football fans will “meet up” and tweet as they watch pre-season football games. The TweetUp will take place at Courtyard Washington, DC/U.S. Capitol this Saturday at 6:30 pm. “Sideline Pass” is organizing the TweetUp. Based in the Washington, DC area, “Sideline Pass” is a new sports information site (www.sidelinepass.com) for female sports fans.
More than 40 women from Washington, DC to Baltimore are expected to attend with laptops and PDA’s in tow. Multiple NFL pre-season games will be playing on the large flat screen TV’s throughout the lobby and bistro. Free wifi makes it easy to move about and tweet all the action.
