The man behind (and in front of!) the kitchen, who makes all the magic happen, is the one and only Executive Chef Matthias Cantauw.
Lively and outgoing Chef Matthias, a German native, has a wealth of culinary experience in 5-star hotels, in both Europe and Asia.
Packed with skills and sizzling with passion for food, he brings a delightful dining experience, as well as his dedication, creativity and attention to every little detail, in order to make his customers happy.
“Cooking in a hotel is all about personality. I love food and I love to know for whom I am cooking. Working in a resort gives me this personal touch, to get to know every guest, and in the kitchen, only the freshest ingredients are used. They have to be treated with respect, fantasy, good technology, knowledge and prosperity to make a real dish out of them,” notes Chef Matthias.
He believes that a strong team is the must-have asset to every chef and it is his passion to make everyone in his team perform better everyday.
He dubbed his kitchen a ‘Kitchen with heart’ and strives to ensure that every morsel of food that comes out of the kitchen is a gastronomic delight!
Being an active type, when Chef Matthias away from the kitchen at work, he enjoys home-cooking with his friends, as well as photography, mountain bike riding, reading and diving.
