International recognition for Restel’s flagship
The annual World Travel Awards, considered to be the Oscars of the travel industry, were now granted for the 15th time. A total of 167,000 travel industry professionals once again chose the best hotels in various countries. The title of ‘Finland’s Leading Hotel 2008’ was awarded to the Crowne Plaza Helsinki.
The Crowne Plaza Helsinki, which opened its doors in 2005, has received recognition previously: In the conference hotel survey conducted by the market research house Taloustutkimus Oy, the Crowne Plaza Helsinki topped the list as the capital city area’s best unit for its very first year of operations. The InterContinental Hotels Group has also recognized the hotel. In 2005 the Crowne Plaza Helsinki was named ‘Newcomer of the Year’ and took the ‘Torchbearer Award’ for its high level of customer satisfaction.
“We are extremely pleased to receive this acknowledgement,” says Saija Savela-Palovaara, General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Helsinki. “This appreciation warms our hearts especially because we have worked hard to go that extra mile, to make our services better and better. Thanks at an international level like this show that we have made the right choices,” she continues.
The World Travel Awards are the travel industry’s most prestigious and esteemed recognition, covering the different sectors of the global travel industry by region. The nominees in the category of Finland’s Leading Hotel included the Hotel Kämp, which had taken the prize the previous two years, the Hilton Helsinki Strand and Klaus K.
