Gran Meliá Puerto Rico is the Host Hotel of the first PGA Tour event in Puerto Rico until 2012

Guests at the recently renovated Gran Meliá Puerto Rico can tee-off at the new Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico, one of the world’s most unique golf courses which combines the most spectacular landscape to create a timeless blend of beauty and challenge on every hole.

Designed by PGA Tour Professional, Tom Kite, Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico is located on 1,200 acres of waterfront and its two 18-hole golf courses (the Championship course and the Resort course) offer breathtaking views of the nearby El Yunque Rainforest and the Atlantic Ocean.

“Puerto Rico is a fantastic place and deserves the best, which is what we will deliver. I’m a passionate golfer and every detail will be important to me,” said Donald J. Trump.

The Championship Course, which is the host of the first sanctioned PGA TOUR’s Puerto Rico Open from 2008-2012 and the only PGA certified golf course in Puerto Rico, features one of the largest clubhouses in the Caribbean with 46,000 square feet, two restaurants and men’s and women’s lockers and lounges. The club’s Golf Shop provides the latest golf equipment with such brands as Callaway, Ping and Cleveland, as well as fine golfing apparel from Greg Norman, Ashworth and Monterey Club.

“Gran Meliá Puerto Rico is very proud to offer the accommodations for the most demanding guests and all the amenities that the golf players will need during this major golf event”, mentioned Ken Dittrich, Area Vice-president of Gran Meliá Hotels & Resorts in the Americas and Caribbean for Sol Meliá Hotels and Resorts.

The course is just one of the many facilities and amenities offered at Gran Meliá Puerto Rico, with 486 deluxe suites with ocean, golf or mountain views and Royal Service suites with concierge and butler services. The resort offers fine dining restaurants with international cuisine and five bars. Recreational activities and amenities include two tennis courts and a basketball court and the largest lagoon-style pool in Puerto Rico, a kids club and children’s pool, the full-service Yhi Spa and a daily program of activities and evening entertainment. The resort features 29,000 square feet of meetings space for up to 1,100.

Gran Meliá Puerto Rico is located on Puerto Rico’s northeastern coast in Rio Grande, a scenic 20 minutes from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and the greater San Juan area, thanks to the recently inaugurated Route 66 highway, and is an AAA Four-Diamond resort.
