From design trends to points of view and community initiatives, the Talks in Hall 7 offer plenty of food for thought for design and hospitality professionals.
Thursday 5th September
Women & Design By Maison&Objet will offer a first look at this initiative aimed at bringing together and promoting female leaders in design. Moderated by journalist Hortense Leluc, the panel will include Mélanie Leroy, Managing Director of SAFI - Maison&Objet, interior designer Daphné Desjeux, Caroline Petit-Mason, President & Artistic Director of Three Seven Paris and Emilie Viargues-Metge, President of Christofle.
Designer of the Year and architect Lionel Jadot will be in discussion with journalist and producer Sylvie Adigard to share A Radical Vision of Hospitality based on sustainability, craftsmanship and creativity.
Accor Design Awards: The Public Areas Of Tomorrow’s Hotels will look at the design of public spaces in the hotel industry. Once again, Elodie Noël, Global SVP Brand Design Luxury Brands for Sofitel, Sofitl Legend, Emblems and MGallery at Accor, and Lázaro Rosa-Violán, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Lázaro Rosa-Violán, will be in discussion with journalist Roddy Clarke.
Friday 6 September
Cordelia de Castellane invites us to Play with Rustic Style. In conversation with journalist Sylvie Wolff, the artistic director of Dior Maison and Baby Dior talks about her passion for nature and the bucolic style that dominates her aesthetic.
City Guide Hong Kong and its Emerging Design Scene will be a deep dive into the city's new creative scene. The editor-in-chief of designboom, Sofia Lekka Angelopoulou, will be joined by Keith Chan, Interior Designer and Founder of Hintegro, Dennis Cheung, Architect & Founder of Studio Ryte and Charlotte Lafont-Hugo, Founder and Director of Beau Architects.
Maison Sarah Lavoine: A Success Story From Home To Fashion will give Sarah Poniatowski, Founder of Maison Sarah Lavoine, the opportunity to discuss her business model. From decorating homes and hotels to designing objects and fashion, the designer will discuss her successes with journalist Soline Delos.
Founder and Creative Director Tom Dixon and Paul Cocksedge, Designer and Co-Founder of Paul Cocksedge Studio, will demonstrate the Importance of Human Connections in Design in conversation with journalist Roddy Clarke.
Saturday 7th September
During the conference Fashion and Home In Search Of Sustainable Solutions, When Know-how Unites for a Good Cause, Yves Salomon and Marcellin Boyer, respectively Founder and Head of Merchandising and Retail Architecture - Yves Salomon, and Zoran Chapo, Managing Director of Chapo Creation, will be joined by Sofia Lekka Angelopoulou, Editor-in-Chief of designboom, to define a responsible future for collaboration between the two worlds.
Sunday 8 September
In Craftsmanship & Storytelling: Repositioning Know-how Back Into The Heart Of The Luxury Experience,Lison de Caunes, Designer & Founder of Ateliers Lison de Caunes,Thomas Dariel, Designer and Founder of Campus MaNa, Maison Dada & Dariel Studio andCorinne Dutrou, owner of La Métairie Bruyère, will talk about preserving techniques and maintaining the vitality of the sector with journalist Nathalie Degardin.
Monday 9 September
On the last day of the show, the talk Collabs, The Recipe For Success! caught our attention. Cécile Fricker-Lehanneur, Founder and President of Band of Sisters / BOSS, and Sylvette Lepers, Director of Creative Partnerships & Image at La Redoute, will be talking to journalist Laetitia Nallet about the future of collaboration: trend or long-term model.
Maison&Objet takes place from 5 to 9 September 2024 at the Parc des Expositions de Villepinte.
Paris Design Week takes place from 5 to 12 September 2024 in Paris.
