President Dimitri Ruiz and all the other members of the association have been working hard to keep this institution, founded in 1929, alive and kicking, from friendly get-togethers to sharing knowledge and developing the association.
This year, the Clefs d'Or International Congress was held in Istanbul from 11 to 15 March, providing an opportunity for members to exchange ideas with their international counterparts. “We were able to meet with our colleagues and friends from all over the world”, said a delighted Pierre Donel, vice-president of Clefs d'Or France and head concierge at the Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel.
Back in France, the members gathered on 25 April for their annual gala. Before celebrating this reunion, the Clefs d'Or welcomed 32 new members at a ceremony held at the Hôtel Barrière Fouquet's Paris, in partnership with the association “La Société des membres de la Légion d'honneur”.
A flying start to the new season
August is the start of the new school year for students on the FPE (Formation Professionnelle d'Etablissement) hotel concierge course. The 15e promotion begins its training on September 11 at the Occitanie hotel and tourism school in Toulouse.
While Les Clefs d'Or focus their efforts on passing on their knowledge, the association also attaches great importance to conviviality, and is therefore organising its members and partners evening on 18 September at the Manko in Paris.
Les Clefs d'Or France also has a strong regional presence, and will be holding its national conference from 3 to 5 November, “in Strasbourg and on the Alsace wine route”, confirms Pierre Donel.
While the date and venue of the end-of-year party have yet to be decided, we do know that it will be marked, he adds, by “the presentation of the Pierre Quentin trophy, awarded to the winner of the Best Young Clefs d'Or Concierge of France competition. The winner will then take part in the Best Young Clefs d'Or Concierge of the World competition”.
Plans for 2024
On the agenda for 2024, the association is already planning to welcome its new members. The selection process will run from the end of December, the deadline for submitting applications, to February 2024, when they will appear before a jury to validate their membership of Clefs for France.
The Clefs d'Or concierges will then join their colleagues in Bali from 21 to 26 April 2024, for the next international meeting.
