An unending love affair with a beloved classic indulgence.
Like the ideal lover - chocolate is rich, visually captivating, satisfying and always leaves one wanting more. Sofitel, the luxury brand of Accor hotels, captivates the senses with the unveiling of its limited edition culinary program - L'Obsession du Chocolat.
From November 1 - December 22, guests at all ten North American Sofitel properties will have the opportunity to savor the decadence of chocolate - a worldly obsession that began more than 2,000 years ago when the tasty secret of the cacao (kah KOW) tree was discovered. The ancient cultures of Mexico and Central America, which include the Mayan and Aztec, mixed ground cacao seeds with a variety of spices to create a spicy, frothy drink. Sofitel's L'Obsession du Chocolat pays tribute with a multitude of recipes and offerings including steaming pots of hot chocolate to start the day.
The temptation continues around-the-clock at Sofitel. Delectable offerings include French chocolate waffles and pancakes covered with warm Nutella hazelnut chocolate sauce, cocoa-infused lunch entrées, a three-course chocolate dinner menu with wine pairing and mini milk & dark chocolate cakes.
Sofitel gives a new twist to traditional teatime with an afternoon chocolate experience. Guests are presented with a menu of ten hot chocolate blends, a selection of six mini chocolate pastries, finger sandwiches and a mini Nutella pot to rival the jam and clotted cream.
Chocolate libations and after-dinner menu selections entice at Sofitel's lounges and bars. No one can resist the cocoa-kissed menu which includes five chocolate cocktails, a chocolate trilogy served with Scotch or Cognac, a trio of chocolate-covered strawberries and three appetizers with a chocolate-twist.
To formally welcome guests to the journey of chocolate obsession, Sofitel properties in North America will display chocolate art and host weekly chocolate demonstrations.
