The Table Bay Hotel has been named the number one hotel in Africa by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler Magazine in its 20th annual Readers' Choice Awards. The hotel also garnered a ranking of #8 in the world over-all in the prestigious poll which was published in the November 2007 issue.
"We are absolutely delighted to be held in such high regard by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler," said Lorenzo Giani, sales and marketing manager for Sun International in the U.S. "It's an honor to be lauded like this in such an esteemed survey."
The Readers' Choice Survey is one of the largest independent polls of consumers' preferences, second in size only to the U.S. Census. A record number of travelers, more than 28,000, voted this year. Hotels are ranked on food/dining, location, overall design, rooms, and service. For more details visit http://www.concierge.com/bestof/readerschoice
Sun International's Royal Livingstone, located on the precipice of Victoria Falls in Zambia, was voted number 11 in the Middle East and Africa Resort category; while their Sun City Hotel in the glamorous Sun City resort took the number 20 position in that category.
The Table Bay occupies a prime position on the historic Cape Town waterfront. The hotel, which just celebrated its 10th birthday, combines a subtle blend of nautically styled elegance with luxurious relaxation providing the ideal setting for both business and pleasure. Each of the sophisticated rooms and suites offer magnificent views across the Bay of Robben Island or the majestic Table Mountain.
