STEIN HOTELS AND RESORTS, OWNER AND OPERATOR OF A UNIQUE COLLECTION OF LUXURY LIFESTYLE HOTELS ACROSS EUROPE, HAS LAUNCHED THE EXPANSION OF ITS OPERATIONS INTO NORTH AMERICA.

Chairman David Stein says "When we began the company in December 2001, we announced our plan to have 25 hotels operating in Europe within the decade. Almost everyone believed that was just an ambitious dream. However, five years later we have 23 hotels in the portfolio, with 17 currently operating and new opportunities on the way, so we are well ahead of our original target. Therefore, we decided to optimize the value of our brand, the special technology that we have created for intimate, small luxury lifestyle operations and the outstanding team of professionals that we have developed, in an aggressive North American expansion program. Luxury travel in the early 21st century will be more and more defined by individual experiences. People don’t want homogeneity – they want to stay in infinitely unique hotels, enjoy the differences that each one offers, dine on great local cuisine while experiencing personalized, warm and unpretentious service".

Running the North American Operation from our offices in the Equitable Building on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago will be Tanya Franco, CEO for North America. Bringing many years of hotel experience to her role, Franco says, “Given the shifting demographics of today’s high-end hotel and resort guests, evolution of technology, increasing guest sophistication, and trends in consumer usage patterns, there is no doubt that the era of customization is upon the lodging industry on a global basis. Stein Hotels and Resorts’ commitment to quality, philosophy and history in Europe is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the discernible needs of tomorrow's guests. Sharing the same philosophy and commitment to quality, I am excited by Stein Hotels and Resorts’ ability to capitalize on this clearly identifiable opportunity, to blend the lessons and experience that has been gleaned in Europe with the market driven needs and unfulfilled demand in North America".

Understanding Stein Hotels and Resorts

Stein Hotels and Resorts currently owns and/or operates 17 luxury properties throughout Europe, including destinations such as the French Riviera, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Mallorca, London and Amsterdam.
