Wyndham Vacation Ownership, the world’s largest vacation ownership company and a member of the Wyndham Worldwide family of companies (NYSE: WYN), today announced it has begun renovation of the historic Hotel Canterbury to transform the property into Wyndham Vacation Resorts San Francisco. It is anticipated the 115-unit urban resort will welcome its first guests in the fall of 2008 and will operate within the company’s FairShare Plus by Wyndham program. This will be Wyndham Vacation Ownership’s second resort in the city, joining WorldMark San Francisco.

“In 2004, we began offering the Bay Area as a vacation option to our owners through our WorldMark San Francisco property. Their response to this amazing city and its impressive vacation offerings has led us to more than double our San Francisco inventory with the addition of this second Wyndham Vacation Ownership property,” said Franz Hanning, president and chief executive officer, Wyndham Vacation Ownership. “This property enables us to provide our owners with the level of service and comfort they have to come to expect from the Wyndham name in a location that is central to the best of what San Francisco has to offer.”

The property is undergoing extensive renovation to what was previously the 70-year-old Canterbury Hotel and adjoining Whitehall Inn. The property was acquired by Wyndham Vacation Ownership from Chateau de Fleurs Real Estate LLC, 4407 Francis Real Estate LLC and Canterbury Real Estate LLC, all affiliates of The KOR Group. Once complete, the property will offer a combination of spacious one- and two-bedroom units as well as 20 luxurious one-, two- and three-bedroom Presidential suites. The resort will feature such amenities as a fitness center, business office and on-site restaurant.

As part of The Avenue Collection by Wyndham, Wyndham Vacation Resorts San Francisco offers owners and their guests a well-appointed resort in the heart of the city. The resort is within walking distance of the city’s popular Union Square, the shopping district and many of the city’s numerous parks. Owners and guests have easy access to the city’s famous streetcars, which provide transportation to San Francisco’s renowned sites such as the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf and Alcatraz. Upscale properties in The Avenue Collection by Wyndham portfolio offer space-saving amenities such as kitchenettes, intimate seating and lounge areas, in some of the most sought-after urban locations.

Wyndham Vacation Resorts San Francisco is Wyndham Vacation Ownership’s latest expansion into an urban destination. In addition to San Francisco, Wyndham Vacation Ownership has recently opened or is developing resorts in urban markets such as Washington D.C., San Diego and New Orl
