A further five star deluxe hotel will be added to the portfolio of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts: the Swissôtel Novosibirsk in Russia. The international hotel chain with Swiss heritage has recently signed a management contract with the company Sibacademinvest and the new property is scheduled to open in 2009.

“The new Swissôtel Novosibirsk marks our further expansion into Russia”, says Meinhard Huck, Managing Director Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts. “After successfully operating the Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy in Moscow since summer 2005, this second hotel in the Russian market is set to strengthen our presence in this important market.”

The hotel will be located directly in the city centre of Novosibirsk in the financial district and is going to feature 200 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Extensive conference facilities including a business centre and a wide range of restaurants and bars with international and local specialities will cater for the needs of guests from all over the world. A large spa area including a gym and swimmingpool area rounds up the variety of facilities.

“We are looking forward to having a fruitful partnership with Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts”, explains Mikhail Nenashev, President of Sibacademinvest. “The manage-ment contract for this property had to be signed by an international hotel chain with high standards and completely focusing on the needs of today’s discerning travellers.”

Novosibirsk is located in western Siberia and is considered as the third largest city in Russia after Moscow and Saint Petersburg. It's situated right in the middle of Russia and has a population of 1.5 million inhabitants. The city lies on both banks of the Ob River. Industries include machine manufacturing and metallurgy. It is the home of the Novosibirsk State University (situated in nearby Akademgorodok), a number of institutes and a scientific research center.
