The peaceful environment of the Mandarin Spa, at the award-winning Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong provides the perfect backdrop for the new 'Imperial Jade Ritual' that uses Chinese wellness techniques combined with oriental ingredients, to balance mind, body and spirit. The treatment is the latest in the award-winning hotel group’s mission to create new spa experiences that are setting industry standards worldwide.
This stimulating Ritual offers the perfect antidote to the pulsating rhythm of the city and consists of two hours of superlative pampering, during which the body is stimulated with a series of techniques. The journey begins with a foot cleansing herbal compress and reflexology to open meridian energy lines. A Chinese-style massage is then performed to stimulate acupressure points and aid in tension release, balancing both yin and yang energies.
A luxurious combination of locally sourced sesame and ground rice body scrub follows, to lighten and stimulate the skin before a green tea and algae body mask, specifically blended to eliminate toxins and refine the skin. The treatment concludes with a ginseng facemask, renowned for its anti-aging effects through cellular renewal, during which cool jade rollers are used on the face to lift and tone while hydrating the complexion, ensuring equilibrium in both mind and body
“The ‘Imperial Jade Ritual’ is the ultimate reprieve from the surrounding metropolis, and is essential for visitors to Hong Kong and residents alike” said Spa Director, Lynsey Hughes. “We have sought to encompass many century-old Chinese techniques and sourced an array of local ingredients including energizing ginseng and healing rice for this unique experience, culminating with the balancing effects of jade, one of the world’s oldest-known healing stones” she added.
Guests are advised to arrive 45 minutes before their appointment, in order to relax in the spa’s heat and water oasis, which includes Chinese herbal steam rooms and experience showers as well as a sauna and hydrotherapy pool for men, and an ice fountain and Kneipp pool for women, before moving through to the Oriental tea lounge.
