Gravitating away from the traditional, and appealing to a younger-thinking, more style-conscious traveller, D2 sets itself apart from the predictable as a brand with a refreshing, progressive outlook.

Since the opening of the first Dusit brand extension property, the D2hotel chiang mai, in 2005, the hotel has enjoyed immense popularity among the trendy Thais from the Northern capital city, as well as the hip-hop holidaymakers from throughout the country and overseas. So, in keeping with dusitD2’s success in Chiang Mai as the new “lifestyle with Thai accent” Dusit brand, upcoming sister properties in Pattaya and Samui will be opening soon, adding to Thailand’s trendy hotel scene.

Continuing the D2 brand mission to “deliver a leading new business or leisure experience focusing on recognizing and meeting the needs of the new generation of travellers” and the D2 character: “delightful, dynamic and divine - a modernistic Thai concept with a blend of innovative design,” both D2 hotels will develop along those lines.

The dusitD2 baraquda pattaya, slated to open in October 2008, is poised to provide a residential warm fantasy following dusitD2’s original character of always adding little surprises for its guests, and creating a well designed environment for the young and young at heart. The property will have 72 rooms and suites, a club lounge, a main restaurant serving Indochine food and a cool bar, pool bar, and sunset lounge, spa, fitness, retail shop, a swimming pool each for adults and kids, and two meeting rooms.

The dusitD2 samui will be located on Choengmon Beach. It will have 60 individual pool villas and is scheduled to open in August 2009. The simplicity of the hotel’s design and inspired use of oriental touches will create a relaxing and enriching experience. Facilities will encompass a restaurant, poolside bar, spa, fitness, library, meeting rooms, and a 90-metre-long swimming pool facing the sea.
