Momentum Remains Strong For Choice Hotels Expansion Into The Caribbean Market

Thanks to its targeted and focused development efforts, the success of Choice Hotels International (NYSE: CHH) in the Caribbean market, has grown tremendously in recent months and shows no signs of stopping.

With several projects in the pipeline in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and US Virgin Islands, Choice is beginning to claim its title as a major player in the Caribbean Market. Additionally, Choice has three hotels slated to open in Puerto Rico this year.

“At Choice we recognize a great hotel franchise in the Caribbean needs a strong brand, reservations delivered, powerful marketing, collaborative support, and most importantly, it needs all these things working together with the success of the hotelier in mind – that’s what we are bringing to the table,” said Caroline Racine director, Caribbean franchise development for Choice Hotels.

To further relationships with hoteliers in the region Choice became a strategic alliance partner of the Caribbean Hotel Association. Through this relationship Choice has been able to build a positive reputation in the local hospitality market, attracting more and more new franchisees. Choice will also be a sponsor of this years Small Hotels Retreat where Choice will be offering an initial franchise fee discount of $5,000 for the first 5 applicants that submit their applications this year.

“Working with small independent hotels throughout the Caribbean is something that we are passionate about and take very seriously,” said Brian Parker, vice president, emerging markets and new business development for Choice Hotels. “Albeit resort and all-inclusive destinations play an important role in the Caribbean lodging landscape we believe that small hotels do as well and want to help them remain competitive in the marketplace.”
