On November 1, 2007 Franz X. Rattenstetter will take over as Manager of the Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg near Bonn. Rattenstetter currently manages the Crowne Plaza in Bucharest, Romania.
Franz X. Rattenstetter (58) laid the foundations for his career in the hotel industry by studying at the D. Speiser Hotel School in Tegernsee and the Swiss School of Hotel Management and Languages (Hospra) in Leysin, graduating with a degree in Hotel and Catering Management. After holding various positions, Rattenstetter came to the Hotel Nikko in Düsseldorf in 1984 as Director of Sales. In 1989 he joined InterContinental Hotels – initially as Director of Sales, later becoming Director of Marketing in the InterContinental Frankfurt. Five years later he transferred within the group, becoming Executive Assistant Manager at the Hotel InterContinental Jordan in Amman. In 1996 he moved on to become Resident Manager of the Al Bustan Palace InterContinental in Muscat, Oman. The experienced hotelier subsequently spent eighteen months overseeing the opening of the InterContinental Mzaar Mountain Resort & Spa im Libanon. Franz X. Rattenstetter currently holds the position of General Manager at the Crowne Plaza in Bucharest, Romania. In November, Rattenstetter will take over at the Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg from Horst Juentgen, who is retiring for health reasons after eight successful years as manager of this traditional hotel.
