The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express (VSOE) makes tracks across TV screens tomorrow as the stylish and timeless backdrop for the Marks & Spencer (M&S) autumn advertising campaign. The campaign, which also includes print advertisements and billboards across the U.K., launches on the 12th September, with the first TV advertisement previewing at 7.45 GMT on ITV.
The centrepiece of the campaign, which features Twiggy alongside fellow M&S models Erin O'Connor, Laura Bailey, Noemie Lenoir and Myleene Klass, is the 50-second television advertisement in which the girls are shown excitedly
embarking on a once in a lifetime trip together aboard the legendary VSOE to Venice.
In it, the girls take delight in the comforts and luxuries of the train whilst travelling through the Alps and then through Italy-the inlaid corridors and intricately decorated carriages of the VSOE serving as the glamorous playground and dressing up box for the girls, who indulge their passion for the latest 1940's-inspired autumn collections before the cameras.
They also meet in the famed bar car for evening cocktails as Myleene Klass provides the entertainment, tickling the ivories on the baby grand piano before retiring to bed in one of the cosy cabins. Arriving in Venice, the girls are seen disembarking the train and travelling on an elegant water taxi down the Grand Canal and into the sunset.
The VSOE also served as the setting for the still photography aspect of the campaign, in which the girl's modelled items from M&S' latest collection in a number of the trains meticulously-maintained carriages, including the
opulent bar car, the dining cars with their plush fabrics and inlaid marquetry and the cabins with their stunning art deco features.
The storied Venice Simplon-Orient-Expess is the perfect complement to M&S's throwback autumn collection.
