Barcelo Hotels & Resorts Reports No Major Damage at Cancun or Riviera Maya Hotels & Resorts from Hurricane Dean
Company Says All Hotels Remain Operational
Barcelo Hotels & Resorts is pleased to report that its hotels in Cancun and along Mexico's Riviera Maya coast have not sustained any major damage from hurricane Dean and remain fully operational with all services and power. This includes the Barcelo Costa Cancun Hotel and the Barcelo Tucancun Beach Hotel, both in Cancun, as well as The Barcelo Maya Beach Resort which includes four hotels: The Barcelo Maya Tropical Hotel, The Barcelo Colonial Beach Hotel, and The Barcelo Maya Beach and Caribe Hotels.
"We have been in touch with senior management at all of our properties in the hurricane affected area and have been assured that our guests, staff and properties are all safe," said Oscar Serrano, Managing Director for Barcelo Hotels & Resorts. "The hotels are fully operational with power, water and all essential services. There has been no major structural damage reported, and now that the hurricane has passed workers are removing any debris and making any minor repairs that are necessary. All of our hotels are at full-service and ready for incoming guests," added Serrano.
Tour operators who have questions about Barcelo services at any of the Cancun/Rivera Maya hotels should contact their Barcelo sales representative, and guests should contact their tour operator.
