Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts opens its ninth property in the Middle East today – its fourth in Egypt. Located in a prime position overlooking the Mediterranean, Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria sits in the heart of this ancient city’s elite district of San Stefano.
The 118-room Hotel stands on the historic site of the fabled San Stefano Hotel which was built in the late 1800’s and played host to the rich and famous of the day. Four Seasons guests can now be part of the legend and experience the distinct European flavour this Mediterranean gateway has to offer.
Each guest room and suite offers private balconies with spectacular views of the Sea and the glittering city. The rooms and suites set a new benchmark for quality and spaciousness in Alexandria. Designed by French designer, Pierre Yves Rochon, the chic décor is enhanced by traditional Mediterranean accents and Roman-style marble bathrooms.
Visitors will enjoy a fine range of cuisines and be able to choose among nine different dining venues including the Hotel’s premier restaurant Byblos with its menus of Lebanese and French cuisine to Fresca Café, and Gelateria where café culture takes on a whole new meaning. Guests can also enjoy authentic Italian cuisine at Stefano’s, Mediterranean delights at Kala and light snacks and tapas in Bleu. The Lobby Lounge with its all-day dining features live entertainment from the afternoon through to late evening while Le Bar sways to the rhythm of live jazz nightly.
The two-story Spa, opening later this summer, has 14 treatment rooms – including two couple’s suites – and will offer an extensive menu of body care, face care, massages and spa treatments inspired by the sea. The adjacent 24-hour Fitness Centre includes a squash court and two gyms, one for women only, and certified trainers that are on duty at all times. The Fitness Centre also has a Kinesis Studio (special equipment for resistance training for a variety of sports). The Infinity Pool on the fourth floor terrace will provide a calming escape from the city for those who want to just relax.
The Hotel is destined to be the preferred venue for conferences and meetings while the grand ballroom will play host to large events and weddings of up to 700 people. The ballroom’s interior features a hand-painted ceiling, its design of clouds reminiscent of the craftsmanship found in French chateaux. Hi-speed Internet connections in the work area of each room and at the bedside allow business people to remain in contact – a facility which is backed up by the Hotel’s 24-hour Business Centre.
