The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. will open its third hotel in the Los Angeles area as part of the “L.A. Live” sports and entertainment development under construction in the city’s revitalized downtown area. The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, a 123-room “all club” hotel will be situated on the upper floors of a 54-story tower which will also include 224 private condominiums, The Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. Live.
“As the centerpiece of the “L.A. Live” complex, the tower housing The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles will feature a metal and glass curtain wall exterior, and will consist of both vision and non-vision glass units in colors of blue and green and patterns to create a distinctive profile in the downtown skyline.
The hotel will be centrally located within the sports and entertainment campus, steps away from Staples Center, The Nokia Theater, The Grammy Museum, and an array of restaurants and nightspots. The interior will be designed by Babey Moulton Jue & Booth (BaMo). The project is under the ownership of AEG, one of the world’s leading sports and entertainment companies.
“The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles will be a great addition to the city’s downtown,” said Simon F. Cooper, president and chief operating officer. “We are pleased to be part of a project which will offer such a strategic and convenient location for both guests and residents,” he added. Other Ritz-Carlton hotels in the Los Angeles area include locations in Marina del Rey and Pasadena.
As the first Ritz-Carlton “all club” property in the United States, the hotel will feature a 3,400 square foot Club Lounge, which will also serve as the 23rd floor check-in area for guests. A small boardroom will be available adjacent to the lounge area, providing meeting space suitable for business meetings. Another unique feature of The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles will be a combined Lobby Lounge and restaurant on the 24th floor with windows offering panoramic views of the downtown and surrounding Southern California. An outdoor rooftop swimming pool and terrace will offer guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles a relaxing retreat from the city below
Atop The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, the residences will include one to three bedroom luxury apartments which will allow owners access to hotel services from housekeeping and catering to concierge and valet. Plans for The Residences include a library, multi-seat theater, and a fitness center. A sales center is scheduled to open in mid-2007.
