With its 2022 theme, A Moveable Feast, DUCO France pays homage to the cultural effervescence of the early 20th century.
Taking place in the City of Light from October 10th to 14th, the summit embraces the festive atmosphere of 1920s Paris when the city was at the fulcrum of cultural and artistic expression.
DUCO Travel Summit pioneered the concept of a destination-oriented initiative focused on high-end hospitality and remains the first and only travel event to highlight a single destination, at that destination.
Now in its second year in France, this innovative invitation-only event brings together the finest French hotels and travel experiences with an exclusive selection of travel advisors from international English-speaking and European markets, as well as DMCs and trusted destination partners.
In preparations for the four-day event, DUCO founder Carolina Perez shared her excitement for the second-annual appointment and reinforced DUCO’s mission as an ambassador for the delights of France:
“I am truly pleased to open the second year of DUCO France, a niche initiative, amid a hugely successful, record-setting year in travel. DUCO strives to support high-end tourism in France by raising awareness of the destination, fostering education, creating meaningful connections, and unlocking the secrets of this magnificent country.”
Attending DUCO France 2022 are 164 of the nation’s premier hospitality professionals and 160 frontline travel advisors and influencer travel agents who are the top sellers and rising stars of the English-speaking markets. [Buyers are from United States (75%), Europe (14%), Latin America (6%), Canada (3%), and Australia (2%).]
Attendees dive deep into the destination, starting at enriching fifteen-minute daytime appointments and continuing through engaging nighttime events.
DUCO France is proudly joined by three lead Destination Partners: Atout France, the Paris Region Tourist Board, and the Paris Convention & Visitors Bureau.
« Hosting this 2nd edition of DUCO France is a wonderful opportunity to restore France's position in the luxury tourism segment. After the difficult period that some professionals have gone through, they are keen to share with international luxury travel experts all their new exceptional offers and to make people enjoy once in a lifetime experiences in France. Atout France is therefore particularly thrilled to support this initiative. » Caroline Leboucher, Managing Director of Atout France
« The Paris Region Tourist Board is pleased to partner with this second edition of DUCO France and to contribute to hosting these meetings in Paris Region in order to promote the destination to high-contribution customers from the Anglo-Saxon markets. This is an opportunity for the Paris Region Tourist Board to ensure them the best welcome as we are witnessing an upturn in tourism activity. » Christophe Décloux, Managing Director of Paris Region Tourist Board
“Following the success of DUCO France’s first edition in October 2021, Paris Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to be DUCO France’s partner for this second edition in Paris. This major event highlights the resources of the destination and its hospitality spirit. DUCO France is a superb opportunity to promote Paris with international clientele, and to gather at the same occasion all the unmissable actors of Parisian luxury working collectively to offer visitors an experience that matches Paris’s image : contemporary, sustainable and innovative.” Corinne Menegaux, Executive Director of Paris Convention & Visitors Bureau
DUCO France 2022: A Moveable Feast
This year’s theme captures the spirit of Les Années Folles, the crazy years, celebrating the centennial anniversary of an era that exemplifies the artistic expression and joie de vivre of France.
The 1920s were a time that fostered creative collaborations and innovative thinking and this is what DUCO seeks to replicate in the 21st century. The event offers an opportunity for travel advisors to immerse themselves in this magnificent country and learn firsthand what France has to offer travelers.
Awards
DUCO France 2022 will also feature the A Moveable Feast Awards recognizing outstanding properties, experience providers, and emporiums as voted by attendees, with winners in three categories: Unique Experience Provider (DMCs, Cruises, and Shops), Hôtel de Charme (up to 40 rooms), and Emblématique Maison (more than 40 rooms).
The winners will be announced on Thursday, October 13th, during lunch at the InterContinental Paris Le Grand.
About DUCO Travel Summit
Founded in 2016 by Carolina Perez, DUCO Travel Summit is a destination-oriented initiative. It is the first travel summit of its kind to focus on one single destination and a channel for the promotion of the destination through marketing actions and digital platforms. DUCO Travel Summit organizes DUCO France launched in 2021 in Paris and DUCO Italy, an annual event held in Florence.
The DUCO concept results from the passion of the company’s founder, Carolina Perez, who is of Italian heritage and grew up in Brazil. After 16 years leading the family business, Teresa Perez Tours in Sao Paulo, Carolina created and founded Travelweek Sao Paulo, which was acquired by ILTM Reed Exhibitions in 2013 and rebranded as ILTM Latin America.
