As guests cross the threshold of Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, they are immersed in a magical world of festive fun, with glistening decorations thought up by Jeff Leatham, the Hotel’s celebrated artistic director.

Creating a veritable fairy tale-like atmosphere, this year’s decorations are a Parisian attraction in their own right.

A sparkling fir tree dusted with gold and silver glitter stands majestically in the lobby, snow-dusted fir trees adorn the magnificent Marble Courtyard, while winter floral creations embellish the interiors of La Galerie.

Immersed in this enchanting atmosphere, guests can enjoy a delectable festive afternoon tea created by Executive Pastry Chef Michael Bartocetti, with delicate and comforting sweet delights served in La Galerie, the Hotel’s all-day dining lounge adorned with Flemish tapestries and 19th century furnishings.

Each year, the chef surprises with a seasonally themed Yule log that is a veritable work of art.

To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, Bartocetti has created a Yule log with soft, shallow curves and an undulating design recalling the shape of a traditional Christmas tree.

At Le Bar, guests can get in the Christmas spirit with seasonal creations that are sure to tantalise the tastebuds in the early evenings.

Created especially for the season, the Hotel’s signature Let it Wood cocktail is a must try, prepared with champagne, green Chartreuse and homemade syrup made with a special blend of ingredients.

For guests wishing to learn how best to craft a gourmet and exceptional festive menu for their loved ones, Chef Christian Le Squer, Pastry Chef Michael Bartocetti and Sommelier Eric Beaumard have come together to create a one-of-a-kind full day masterclass.

The trio will share three Michelin-starred recipes, the art of making exquisite gourmet desserts and suggestions on the best wine pairings. The chefs will guide them every step of the way, sharing unique tips on how to make this festive season even more twinkling.

The festive atmosphere continues in the Hotel’s three Michelin-starred restaurants.

At Le Cinq, guests can enjoy the lavish cuisine of three Michelin-starred Chef Christian Le Squer, paired with a selection of rare wines selected by Le Cinq Director Eric Beaumard, ranked second best sommelier in the world.

At the chic and stylish Le George, Michelin-starred Chef Simone Zanoni crafts Mediterranean sharing plates that perfectly embody the holiday spirit.

For guests looking to celebrate in a more secluded setting, Michelin-starred Chef Alan Taudon has created innovative dishes based on fresh seasonal produce at L’Orangerie and La Galerie.

For the very first time, on Christmas and New Year’s Day, a festive brunch will be served in the majestic setting of Le Cinq.

The spread tempts the tastebuds with sweet and savoury treats, and is a great way to start Christmas and New Year’s Day with the whole family and a leisurely morning.

The brunch menu offers a parade of French delights, beginning with delicious pastries created by new Bakery Chef Guillaume Cabrol, sweet dishes signed by Pastry Chef Michael Bartocetti, finishing with a gourmet buffet paired with champagne.

There’s no shortage of entertainment for little ones, with a fun-fuelled afternoon featuring exciting hands-on workshops, a Christmassy snack, and presents handed out by Santa Christmas himself.

Finally, a wondering band will set the mood and create a vibrant atmosphere on New Year’s Eve at all three restaurants.

At La Galerie, mixologists will shake up expertly crafted cocktails and post-dinner drinks in the build-up to the new year, while at Le Bar a DJ will spin tracks in the run-up to midnight, when guests can ring in 2022 and dance the night away until the early hours.

Head Concierge Roderick Levejac has a top tip for those wishing to fully experience the pulsating atmosphere of the capital on the last day of the year: “After dinner, walk up to the Arc de Triomphe where a sound and light show is projected on the façade of the famous Parisian monument. The show culminates in a spectacular display at midnight with a traditional New Year countdown.”
