The restaurant, which forms part of Four Seasons Megève Collection, will bring a touch of dolce vita and Italian conviviality to the alpine resort, with menus created by Michelin-Starred Chef Simone Zanoni.
Whilst the restaurant, formerly known as La Taverne du Mont d’Arbois, was at the heart of Megève’s party scene in the 1970’s, in subsequent years, the crowds mellowed and it became a cosy setting for Savoyard cuisine.
This winter, the celebrations and party spirit will return with the launch of La Trattoria de la Taverne, a gourmet Italian restaurant with nightly DJ sets and rustic chalet décor.
Originally from the Lombardy region of Italy, Chef Simone Zanoni was taught to cook by his grandmother Nonna Igina on the family farm, using local produce that was grown on-site.
The importance of local, high-quality produce has remained with Chef Simone throughout his career, and led him to Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, where he has worked as Chef at Le George (Michelin-Star) since 2015.
Zanoni’s menu for La Trattoria de la Taverne celebrates Mediterranean traditions and his own heritage, a blend of convivial cuisine with transalpine flavours.
Crafted to emphasise the produce of the Megève region, the menu encompasses alpine cheese varieties, local butters and seasonal vegetables, served alongside a selection of fine Italian wines and cocktails, bringing guests on a journey to the heart of Italy.
Evenings will begin with a traditional aperitivo, a staple of Italian lifestyle, where guests will share gourmet appetisers and creative cocktails to the sound of laid-back lounge music.
In the second half of the evening, during dinner service, the atmosphere becomes more lively with a resident DJ.
La Trattoria de la Taverne is a tribute to Italian dolce vita and will be the highlight of winter evenings in Megève in 2021.
Open from Friday 17 December, Monday – Sunday, 7 pm to 1 am
