They are delighted to announce their ‘Collect To Recycle’ programme, which will pilot for three months at four Elite Hotel locations: Ashdown Park in East Sussex, Tylney Hall in Hampshire, The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne and Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa, in Bedfordshire.
How Does It Work?
Molton Brown have provided branded bins for all their used amenities bottles from their Luxury Collection One and 1971 Collection.
These are then collected by a recycling company which clean and recycle the bottles, including pumps and caps, into plastic resin. This can be used for endless purposes in the UK, from moulding new plastic bottles to creating shoes and building roads – the brand’s way of giving back to the earth and nurturing its resources.
The residual product left in the bottles is also recycled.
The brand is deeply proud to have an enduring relationship with Elite Hotels, which share their passion for outstanding quality, service and a kinder approach to the earth.
Giles Minter, Group Director of Procurement & Projects for Elite Hotels announces, ‘‘The ‘Collect To Recycle’ Initiative from Molton Brown is a key part of Elite Hotels’ evolving strategy to remove plastic waste from our business and the associated impact on the environment. As a long-standing supplier to Elite Hotels, we are delighted that Molton Brown are actively supporting us in our sustainability journey.’’
Molton Brown’s conscious care for the world has been at their heart since they began in 1971, and now in their 50th year they continue to find exciting new ways to prioritise the planet.
‘Collect To Recycle’ is part of their ongoing sustainability journey, as Beatrice Descorps, Global Vice President of Marketing at Molton Brown, passionately puts it, ‘‘Only we are responsible for protecting our planet – we believe that sustainability is more than the right thing to do, it’s a must. By renewing our bottles into further resources, we’re one step closer to decreasing landfill, creating a circular economy and safeguarding future generations.’’
The brand has already trialled a similar recycling scheme in their stores, called ‘Return. Recycle. Reward.’
Customers can bring back their empty Molton Brown bottles to the store, which are collected and taken through the same process as their hotel amenities. As a ‘thank you’, customers receive 10% off their next purchase with every 300ml bottle or bottles that add up to 300ml they have returned. The brand are excited to be launching this scheme nationwide and hope the Hotel version will follow.
Among their other commitments, Molton Brown continue to expand their dispensing programme with the recent launch of their new Signature Dispenser to support refillable beauty. They have started manufacturing their Hotel Accessories with fully recyclable outer packaging, which will be available by 2022.
They have also begun manufacturing their 300ml Bath, Body and Hand collection bottles in 50% recycled PET, with plans to expand this in 2022.
