Select Guests Will Win the Chance to be a 'Pro for a Day' and Play at the Crowne Plaza Amateur Invitational at Colonial

Crowne Plaza(R) Hotels & Resorts today announces it will give guests the opportunity to be a 'Pro for a Day' and personally experience the time-honored tradition of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial PGA TOUR golf tournament. For those who aspire to play the legendary course where Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino and many other golf greats have celebrated victory, Crowne Plaza will give 72 golf enthusiasts from around the world a chance to play like a pro in the Crowne Plaza Amateur Invitational at Colonial on Oct. 1.

Beginning May 1 through Aug. 17, golf fans can enter the "Pro for a Day" sweepstakes at www.crowneplaza.com/proforaday for a chance to play at the prestigious Colonial Country Club in tournament conditions. Entrants will increase their chances to win the once-in-a-lifetime experience with each night's stay during the promotional period. In addition, after their first stay, guests will receive a commemorative Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial divot repair tool.

"We're literally recreating one of the most prestigious events on the PGA TOUR. The Crowne Plaza Amateur Invitational at Colonial will bring the Colonial's rich tradition to life for our guests and will give them an extraordinary opportunity to feel like a golf professional," said Kevin Kowalski, vice president, Brand Management, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts. "The 'Pro for a Day' sweepstakes is just one of the many ways we're connecting with our guests who share a love of golf and building positive brand imagery through our association with the PGA TOUR and sponsorship of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial."

Each competing amateur participant will receive an all-expense-paid trip (including flights, meals and accommodation) for two to Fort Worth, TX in October. In addition to the thrill of playing on one of the PGA TOUR'S most storied courses, the 72 amateur golfers will compete for the Crowne Plaza Amateur Invitational trophy and VIP treatment for two at the 2008 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

To replicate the true PGA TOUR experience, players will attend a rules meeting previous to the welcome reception, receive personal recognition on the 1st tee, have their own personal caddies, and enjoy access to Colonial clubhouse and locker room. Each group will be accompanied by a walking scorer and participate in a stroke play championship with handicaps, culminating in a 3-hole shootout among flight winners. XM Radio will broadcast the event live.

Publicis' Digitas developed the promotion and multi-channel marketing campaign with Crowne Plaza, and is partnering with Octagon to execute the replicated professional experience at the Crowne Plaza Amateur Invitational at Colonial.
