Reviewers and guests at TripAdvisor.com have awarded seven member hotels of Boutique Hotels & Resorts International as best in their markets. Twenty-eight members rank in the top quarter, 14 in the top 10 percent. Travelers proclaim preference for boutique hotels in the world's largest community forum.

When listening to those who wish to make their voices heard, it is clear that member hotels of Boutique Hotels & Resorts International® are clear favorites among travelers. Through February 2007, Boutique, the only genuine collection of boutique hotel gems worldwide, has seven members rated first in their market, according to the largest travel community in the world, TripAdvisor.com™.

Among the hotels that rank first in their assigned locations are The Royal Palms, Phoenix, Arizona; Sundial Boutique Hotel, Whistler, BC, Canada; Sun Mountain Lodge, Winthrop, Washington; the Aachen House, Auckland, New Zealand and L'Auberge Del Mar, Del Mar, California.

TripAdvisor® has more than five million unbiased reviews and opinions, covering 220,000 hotels and attractions worldwide, and has won dozens of awards for its websites. Its forum is recognized by hotels around the globe, and allows real travelers to state their opinions and share their experiences.

These reviewers have made a bold statement when it comes to Boutique. "We are very proud that those who matter most, the guests, believe in receiving a genuine boutique experience," boasts Andrew Fine, Vice-President of Membership for Boutique. "It shows that there is a distinct traveling demographic who seek, find and enjoy the unique experiences available in this exciting segment. It shows the power of the Internet as a tool for a community of travelers."

Boutique Hotels & Resorts International® also had six hotels rated second and 3 more rated third, one of which, the Mountvista Boutique Hotel in Queenstown, New Zealand, was also recipient of a TripAdvisor® 2006 Travelers' Choice, Best Hidden Gem - South Pacific.

"A superb facility, a wonderful location and incredible views, but what sets this amazing and intimate hotel apart is the staff and service. Mountvista offers a true Boutique experience, and it will be recognized by reviewers for what it is; not just the best boutique hotel, but the best hotel in Queenstown," commented Fine.

Meanwhile, another four hotels were top five finishers, several more just missing that mark, and 28 members of Boutique were rated in the top quarter within their designation, over half of which were rated in the top 10 percent. "All three of our collections were represented in the seven market leaders, the Diamond Collection™, Emerald Collection™ and the Sapphire Collection™, proving it isn't even all about the perceived typical ratings systems either. It means any hotel, even the small independent boutique hotel can be recognized for what makes it special. It's great to see credit going to where it's deserved -- independent boutique hotels and the hoteliers that make it happen for the guests," finished Fine.
