Debuting in 1999 as Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, the legendary George V has long been acclaimed among the world’s most luxurious hotels. Over the years, it has won numerous accolades, and was most recently awarded 2019 Hotel of the Year by Virtuoso Travel. Its overall success is the direct result of an exceptionally talented team that is committed to creating extraordinary memories for each and every guest.

Twenty Years of Talent, Passion and Craftsmanship

A number of talents have been part of this Four Seasons journey from the very beginning, including Artistic Director Jeff Leatham and Le Cinq Restaurant Director Eric Beaumard. Considered key pillars of the George V, they have both greatly contributed to the success of the Hotel thanks to their exceptional skill and creativity, joining the Four Seasons family with a spirit of innovation and French art de vivre.

Jeff Leatham joined the Hotel at the bottom of the career ladder, quickly making his way to the very top. Self-educated, he joined Four Seasons Hotel George V in 1999, where his unique approach to the way flowers can transform the guest experience sparked a revolution in hospitality design. Leatham’s creations are veritable works of art, captivating guests as soon as they step into the lobby. Bursting with life, the floral installations and arrangements feature more than 14,000 flowers every week.

Thanks to Leatham’s exceptional talent, it did not take long for Four Seasons Hotel George V to gain its reputation as The Flower Hotel. “Flowers really changed my life. They brought me to Paris, and Paris changed my life,” Leatham explains. “I was supposed to stay for two months, and here is where I am today. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the George V.”

Widely acknowledged as one of the best in his field, Eric Beaumard is responsible for creating Le Cinq’s wine cellar, overseeing its day-to-day operations since it opened in 1999. As a result of a severe motorbike accident that hampered his career as a chef, Beaumard switched his focus to wine. By the age of 20 he had reinvented himself as a sommelier, going on to win scores of awards, including Best Sommelier in Europe and a silver medal at the 1998 World’s Best Sommelier Competition.

Upon arriving at the George V in 1999, Beaumard was tasked with rebuilding the wine cellar. Starting from scratch, he gradually built it into the treasur -trove it is today. Beaumard was soon appointed Director of the three Michelin-starred Le Cinq. With more than 50,000 bottles, the restaurant offers an exceptionally diverse selection of rare and exclusive wines. “Everything from past to present at Le Cinq and at Four Seasons Hotel George V creates a unique experience, both in terms of gastronomy and within the hospitality industry in general,” explains Beaumard.
