The Frankfurt-based hotel group Steigenberger is due to open a four-star superior hotel in the heart of Vienna in late 2008/early 2009. Located in the Old Town district, itself a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof will play host to both business travellers and city tourists.
The Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof combines tradition and modernity. Behind the neo-classical facade of the hotel, built in 1913, extensive renovation work has resulted in the creation of a modern business hotel. This new Steigenberger hotel offers 186 comfortable rooms, each with an average size of 31 square metres, as well as ten suites, measuring between 60 and 85 square metres, which look out over the rooftops of Vienna’s Old Town. The conference area of the hotel covers 600 square metres, and consists of ten seminar rooms that link together as required, the largest of which can hold up to 200 people. The hotel’s own Steigenberger Spa Comfort with its open gallery provides a wonderful area for relaxation.
In its quiet but central location in the Palais district, very close to the Hofburg, the hotel is the perfect base for excursions of all kinds. Cultural monuments such as the gothic St. Stephan’s Cathedral and shopping meccas like the Kohlmarkt are all just a few minutes walk away.
The Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof offers a wonderfully tempting range of culinary delights. Creative “Show Cooking” can be enjoyed at the buffet of the main restaurant, which adjoins an individual à-la-carte restaurant. The Café/Bistro represents the traditional Viennese coffee house while the Lobby Bar is the perfect place to enjoy a drink.
The main investor in the project is the company Amisola Immobilien AG of Vienna. The hotel is managed by Steigenberger Hotels AG.
