Leading this culinary cornerstone into a bold new age is recently appointed Gaddi’s Chef Albin Gobil, an up-and-coming star of the culinary world, who has made it his mission to take guests on captivating gastronomic adventures brimming with creativity, innovation and refinement.
Combining a lifelong passion for cooking with a relentless dedication to pursuing culinary excellence, Chef Albin is the ideal talent to continue Gaddi’s proud epicurean traditions while infusing the restaurant with his own youthful energy. Having previously spent more than a decade at Michelin-starred establishments in London, the sought-after young chef arrived in Hong Kong to helm the Gaddi’s kitchen in spring 2019. Since then, he has quickly proven himself a worthy successor to the esteemed chefs who have helped shape the restaurant’s reputation for culinary finesse since its opening, by creating a series of dishes that offer the perfect combination of indulgent flavours, aromas, textures and exquisite presentation.
Chef Gobil describes his culinary style as “modern classic” and employs a deceptively simple, less- is-more approach that allows the carefully selected flavours of each dish to shine through with minimal distraction – a philosophy he shares with Gaddi’s former Executive Chef Xavier Boyer. Chef Gobil also believes that the kitchen is a playground in which to continually experiment with ingredients and flavours, and to fully explore the countless possibilities of his culinary art.
Since arriving, Chef Albin has swiftly formed a creative partnership with The Peninsula’s Wine and Beverage Manager Bojan Radulovic, and the talented duo have dreamed up the “Le Weekend du Vin à Gaddi’s” experience to give guests the chance to experience the joie de vivre of a getaway to France.
Gaddi’s has one of the city’s most extensive wine lists in Hong Kong with over 620 labels. With his wealth of experience, Radulovic, as one of its greatest sommeliers, has curated a unique pairing to Chef Gobil’s menu with a sophisticated journey to bring the wines from the land of France in three different climate regions of continental, maritime and Mediterranean, offering guests the perfect opportunity to enjoy an indulgent wine-paired brunch and in-depth exploration into the realm of a refined wine culture under his expert guidance.
Priced at HK$698 and HK$1,088 with wine pairing per person, the brand new “Le Weekend du Vin à Gaddi’s” menu is available during lunch on every Saturday and Sunday. For the Gaddi’s Degustation Menu, guest can choose the 5-course menu, priced at HK$2,188 and HK$2,888 with wine pairing respectively; whereas the 8-course menu is priced at HK$2,388 and HK$3,188 with wine pairing respectively. For reservation and enquiry, please call Gaddi’s at +852 2696 6763 or e- mail diningphk@peninsula.com to make a booking.
