The Future of Wellness by Six Senses

Today, what it is to be human at its essence hasn’t changed.

What has changed is the human relationship with the environment, pace of life and hyper-connectivity to technology, which has conversely disconnected us from the subtle cause and effect of how everything is related.

Six Senses is creating an alternative future, pushing beyond traditional boundaries into other less visible fields such as sacred energy and connection. In its latest offering, the brand brings together cutting-edge neuroscience and biology with ancient wisdom of shamans who recognized many millennia ago that the body is one system, not a collection of parts that can be medicated or fixed like a breakdown in car.

In cooperation with Dr. Alberto Villoldo, a leader within Neo-Shamanism and Energy Medicine, Six Senses is building an approach to share this knowledge. In June 2019, selected resorts will launch a groundbreaking Grow a New Body program, which lays the foundation for a healthy body that ages slowly and joyfully. The program will help guests look within themselves and create the emotional, nutritional and spiritual conditions for health, healing and living in harmony. What’s more, it will do so in a joyful, playful way – taking time to look inward does not mean boring.

Why?

From the beginning, Six Senses set out to elevate all the senses so that guests could experience the elusive sixth sense, or the unperceived world. This extends to our physical being and our electro-magnetic field, light body or aura that is not part of the anatomical systems and that cannot be viewed conventionally. However, not that long ago, science, and quantum physics in particular, corroborated this thinking. As it went deeper into matter, it found this field doesn’t end where the skin ends; it extends to the farthest reaches of the universe. Who we are as a human is best described by the content of our energy field and what we attract and repel in life through our energy field. We can have a low vibration or a higher vibration, which emits information that the world around receives and responds to.

Journey of discovery

Along the way, Six Senses has taken guests on a journey of discovery depending on how deep they want to go in the pursuit of well-being. As the quest to de-stress, sleep better and keep the gut bacteria happy has become key, Six Senses has entered a new age of integrative wellness. The brand’s vision has also led it to take wellness out of the confines of the spa and infuse it into the entire Six Senses experience. With groundbreaking Sleep and Eat programs, wellness standards are implemented across resorts to give guests the kind of flow where they wake up ready to move mountains.

And now let’s get our energy back

Energy Medicine, which is an important element of the Grow a New Body program, focuses on harnessing the body’s subtle energy system allowing vitality and healing. It is a gateway to the invisible matrix of wisdom where everything is intertwined, where every thought impacts every cell in the body.

Anna Bjurstam, wellness pioneer at Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas said, “At Six Senses, we believe wellness equals freedom. The step into Sacred Energy Medicine will enable our guests to embrace both what can and cannot be seen, connect with the field of magnetic energy to clear toxic emotions, and ultimately switch on longevity genes to live healthier, longer. It will elevate them further on their path to reconnection and living a life of full potential.”
