Take a reinvigorating dip in the glass-bottomed rooftop pool at The Celino South Beach in Miami, enjoy the thrill of a beachfront bunji jump at The Outpost at Sentosa in Singapore or indulge in tantalizing Balearic cuisine at Finca Serena in Mallorca. Whichever getaway one might choose, these SLH hotels offer intense experiences designed to spark all the senses.

The Celino South Beach, Miami, USA

132 rooms from £254 including breakfast

Opens 15th June 2019

Located on Miami’s Ocean Drive, this storied Art Deco Gem, a favourite of silver screen stars like Bogart and Hayworth, has long been an oasis within the Miami scene. Developed to maintain its original 1940s elegance, The Celino South Beach has transformed three art deco buildings, including the landmark Park Central Hotel, into one luxurious boutique hotel with eclectic custom furniture, pop colors and lush greenery. Exclusive and intimate, the rooftop pool offers sprawling views of the beach and Ocean Drive with a magical touch – a peekaboo glass bottom that is visible from the Atrium below. The new Miami hotspot will also house two restaurants and a glamorous horseshoe cocktail bar that seamlessly integrates with the lobby and flows into the new Mediterranean seafood-centric restaurant, Dalia. Guests will be able to order anything from inventive seasonally-driven cocktails infused with exciting new spices and flavour combinations to hand-crafted variations on timeless classics. At Celino’s Pubblica restaurant, rich flavours will dominate the menu with handmade artisanal breads and pastas poised to impress diners on Miami’s world-famous Ocean Drive strip.

SLH Insider Tip: Park Central Hotel was allegedly the birthplace of the conga line so guests should keep an eye out for conga-line kits with how-to guides, drums and cigars in their rooms.

The Outpost at Sentosa, Sentosa Island, Singapore

193 rooms from £176 including breakfast

Opens April 2019

Set on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful Singapore Strait, The Outpost at Sentosa is an adults-only retreat close to three tropical beaches: Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong. Inspired by Sentosa's heritage as a colonial military base, the 193 guestrooms are a stylish interpretation of black and white design, with crisp lines, hints of gold and a sharply contrasting palette. Floor to ceiling windows give sea-facing rooms an uplifting feel, with walk-in showers that guests won’t want to leave – even for the nearby beaches. Guests will find thoughtful gifts such as pampering pillow mist kits, bespoke tea blends or heritage cookies with flavours inspired by Singapore’s signature dishes next to their beds. Each room features a customized mini bar for guests to pick their favourite wine, snacks, and chocolates with compliments from the hotel. Inspired by the Amazon River and the cascading pools of Turkey, the futuristic pool deck features wicker beds and four uniquely themed pools: Pamukkale Pool, Lazy River Pool, Adventure Pool and Children's Play Pool. Of special mention is the Pamukkale Pool - an infinity pool with a view of the seaside in the horizon, as well as a pool bar. Perched on the rooftop of the hotel is an exciting new restaurant and bar concept due to be unveiled later in the year that promises revolutionary dining with panoramic views of the South China Sea.

SLH Insider Tip: Located on The Pool Deck, Happy Camper is a vintage Volkswagen food truck providing a quick stop for the hungry rover. Guests should cool down with an iced latte after prancing in the Pamukkale Pool or curb their appetite with a grilled sandwich after a mid-day gym session.

Hotel Amparo, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

5 rooms from £243 per night including breakfast

Opened January 2019

Hotel Amparo, San Miguel de Allende’s newest luxury boutique hotel, officially opened its doors on January 1, 2019. Situated in the heart of this historic colonial city, the hotel offers travelers an intimate retreat featuring just five guest suites, a high-end coffee bar and a rooftop wine bar. The building, historically the mayor’s private residence, dates back more than 300 years. The interior spaces were stripped to provide a clean backdrop to best showcase both the original Spanish colonial-style architecture and the mid-century furnishings sourced from around the world; including France, India and Denmark. At the heart of the hotel is the high-end coffee bar offering the finest cup of coffee in the city using Mexican-grown and roasted beans sourced from Mexico City’s BUNA coffee shop. Bar Margaret is a limited seating rooftop wine bar serving dishes influenced by the southeastern United States and the Mexican gulf coast with a smattering of Chef Marin’s Peruvian heritage. From May 2019, the hotel will open a new restaurant called Locanda Amparo which will treat guests to traditional hand-made Italian pasta classics such as Bucatini Amatriciana and Spaghetti Carbonara with a greater focus on Italian and Sicilian wines.

SLH Insider Tip: As San Miguel is known around the world for its art scene, the hotel provides gallery concierge services to assist with the purchasing and shipping of must-have finds.

The calm, comfortable rooms and suites are scattered throughout the estate, some in original farm outbuildings and some equipped with private terraces and verandas. For the ultimate indulgence, the hotel includes a stand-alone luxury villa for those traveling with an entourage. Inspired by its rural surroundings, the Restaurant Jacaranda draws on the influences of home soil. Own-grown produce provides the base for the menus here, with wellness at the heart of the delicious dining experience. The property has a separate independent space measuring 2.690 sq.ft. (250 m2) dedicated exclusively to wellbeing where guests can enjoy massages and treatments provided by professionals using Natura Bissé products. Guests can slip into the indoor pool and enjoy far-reaching views of the Mediterranean countryside, or greet the sun with a morning yoga class.

SLH Insider Tip: To experience the island in authentic fashion, guests should hop on one of the hotel’s mountain or electric bikes and take the scenic route to nearby Montuïri.
