The Deutsche Hospitality is getting the market entry in Northern Europe by opening the first Steigenberger Hotel in Sønderborg, close to the German-Danish Border on the 6th of May 2019. The brand-new Steigenberger Alsik, which is managed by the RIMC Hotels & Resorts Group, provides 190 rooms and suites, more than 4500 m² of health and beauty spa and three restaurants charged by the Danish celebrity chef Jesper Koch.

“The Steigenberger Alsik will establish our Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts brand in Scandinavia for the first time. It will be a perfect fit to our Steigenberger family”, says Deutsche Hospitality’s CEO Thomas Willms. We are very much looking forward to welcome guests to the highest quality and service standards in Sønderborg. The Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation and RIMC Hotels & Resorts are the ideal partners to realize this great project.

Deutsche Hospitality, which is the umbrella brand of Steigenberger also took over the majority of the Danish brand Zleep Hotels in January 2019 with ten hotels in Denmark and one hotel in Sweden as well as four more in the planning stage.

Investors of the Alsik Hotel is the Sønderborg-based Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation, owner of the Danfoss Group, together with the Danish Pension Company PFA. The hotel will provide 190 rooms and suites, all of which will be equipped with state-of-the art technology and feature an elegant Nordic style. Most will boast views of the Alssund and the coastline around Sønderborg. Facilities will also include three restaurants, a Spa Café and a bar. The Danish celebrity chef Jesper Koch is in charge of the F&B concept. A further highlight will be the four-storey health and beauty spa area that will extend over more than 4,500 m² and offer guests a unique possibility to relax in various pools, saunas, steam baths and whirlpools. From the spa there is vista of the town’s harbour, and guests will have use of a gym and opportunity to book a broad range of massage treatments. A 1,500 m² conference area will allow congresses and meetings to be staged.

Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation is proud to have Alsik branded by Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts, a brand that represents the epitome of luxury and perfect hospitality.
