Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai’s GM Mr. Rudiger Hollweg was on hand to cut the ribbon with owner representatives Ms. Wang Ying, Ms. Sonia Lassale Nova, Mr. Carlos Chavez and hotel manager Mr. Andras Biro at the opening ceremony, signaling the start of a new phase for the Lobby Bar.
The Lobby Bar’s facelift includes a color scheme change to a lighter tone – with new carpet and modern, elegant new furniture installed to reflect the fresh start and create a casual and relaxing environment for our guests. Additionally, we are now using coffee from Julius Meinl, an icon in the Viennese coffee scene since 1862. Also newly available are a selection of European style cookies, cakes, and pastries – from cranberry cookies to marble cake and apple pie, what better way to sweeten up the day?
A convenient meeting place for casual business meetings or simply to catch up with a friend, the Lobby Bar offers all-day drinks and snacks, making it the perfect place to pass a morning or afternoon. Sample our selection of cheeses and desserts, or opt for something bigger from our choice of main dishes that include salads, sandwiches and hamburgers. Afternoon tea sets are available every Monday to Friday from 2:00pm to 5:30pm, while our sumptuous afternoon tea buffet runs Saturday and Sunday, also from 2:00pm to 5:30pm.
