A legendary home turned into a piece of art privatized for a memorable fine dining experience with a Michelin-starred chef: this is the new Extraordinary Experience offered by the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four SeasonsHotel.
Guests can enjoy exclusive access to the most iconic and secret villa on the French Riviera, La Villa Santo Sospir, where French artist Jean Cocteau used to reside and left a lifetime testimonial of his talent. The story of this unique residence perched on the Mediterranean shoreline began in the 1940s, when it was owned by the socialite Francine Weisweiller. This is the time when the house served as a gathering place for fashionable celebrities, writers and artists, including Coco Chanel, Marlene Dietrich, Pablo Picasso and Cocteau, who lived there for 13 years and turned the home into a work of art, adorning the floors and walls with whimsical mosaics, murals and frescos that remain today.
Now closed to public to protect the Villa’s assets, guests can enjoy a unique opportunity to immerse themselves into this historical art-inspired décor and enjoy a memorable family dinner or a romantic tête-à-tête. The evening starts with a personal tour of the house and its artwork, guided by Weisweiller’s former caretaker, to learn more about Cocteau’s time in the residence and Santo Sospir’s most lively parties. Just in time for sunset, guests will then be greeted by their personal Four Seasons maître d’ on the Mediterranean-view terrace, to taste a Coctea- inspired aperitif made of the artist’s favorite liquor - La Suze - to sip while admiring the colours of sunset on the sea. After that, a dinner created by the Hotel’s Michelin-starred Chef Yoric Tièche is served in the intimacy of the living room where Jean Cocteau and Francine Weisweller used to entertain their famous friends.
Dine in a Work of Art is an experience offered exclusively to guests of Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four SeasonsHotel and includes:
