Four Seasons Hotel Austin announces that Concierge
Elizabeth Fudell has been admitted into
Les Clefs d’Or, a prestigious organisation of top hotel concierges boasting just 650 members nationwide.
The designation makes Fudell
one of five Les Clefs d’Or concierges in Austin and the only active female member in the city. It also secures the top spot for Austin’s Four Seasons, which now has the most Les Clefs d’Or concierges in the state.
“We’re all incredibly proud of Liz for this accomplishment,” says General Manager
Rob Hagelberg. “Les Clefs d’Or has been Liz’s goal since joining the concierge desk, so not only does it represent a great personal triumph but also a wonderful asset for our guests who can be confident they’re working with the best of the best.”
Concierges who are members of Les Clefs d’Or – which literally translates as
“keys of gold” – are recognisable by the crossed gold keys on their lapels, an international symbol that’s meant to assure travellers they’re dealing with a seasoned professional dedicated to serving their every need.
To be admitted, applicants must fulfill several requirements including a minimum of five years of professional concierge service; successful passage of a lengthy exam testing service knowledge; and an in-depth interview to ensure they embody the characteristics and ethical standards of a
Les Clefs d’Or concierge. While difficult to achieve, membership gives concierges significant benefits including access to annual meetings and educational conferences, as well as an extended network of contacts who are equally vested in providing memorable travel experiences.
“It's an honour to be part of an elite organisation made up of extraordinary people,” says Fudell. “I’m thrilled to contribute to this well connected group delivering excellent service to travellers worldwide.”
A fourth generation Austinite with deep roots in central Texas, Fudell joined
Four Seasons Hotel Austin in April 2011 as a hostess in
TRIO, the Hotel’s modern steakhouse. In February 2012, she jumped at the opportunity to transfer to the concierge desk, where she has excelled ever since.
