Since May 10, Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel, has been tagging five iconic Parisian neighbourhoods with the mysterious #10iscoming to tell locals about its upcoming grand reopening.
The date has been set. Hôtel de Crillon will reopen its legendary doors on 5 July 2017. For the occasion, an edgy new marketing campaign has been launched in the middle of Paris. Until now, Hôtel de Crillon has kept the secret of how they took to the streets of Paris to create the surprise.
The mysterious phrase ‘#10iscoming’ was sprayed in neighbourhoods such as Opéra, Haut Marais, Saint Germain-des-Près, Le Triangle d’Or and Place de la Concorde.
The bold campaign is a nod to the world of urban art and a modern update to the Hôtel de Crillon’s publicity strategy. Its location at the heart of Parisian life means it piques the curiosity of Parisians and travellers alike.
The campaign has also struck a chord on social media. Trendsetters and passers-by have got in on the action by posting pictures of the transformed locations.
‘The Hôtel de Crillon really wanted a fresh way to reach out to everyone: the Parisians, the French, people from other countries. This campaign is in tune with new communication technology and today’s digital trend. It’s a way for us to break the mould of the traditional luxury hotel industry,’ explains Sales and Marketing Director Sébastien Legrand.
As of 23 May, www.10iscoming.com will provide a wealth of daily content on the hotel renovation project, its location and philosophy as well as opinions from Parisians, who are an integral part of what drives this vibrant city.
