JW Marriott hotels across the globe will host a series of exclusive events showcasing pieces that are available for auction.  A Specialist from Christie’s will host each event, available to educate and inform guests about each highly-curated collection of items on view, including Chanel and Hermès handbags, rare baseball memorabilia, Patek Philippe, Rolex and timepieces, and more.  Upcoming events include:

  • September 5, JW Marriott London Grosvenor House: Vintage Handbags featuring iconic designers such as Hermès and Chanel
  • September 27, JW Marriott Chicago: The Golden Age of Baseball
  • November 18, JW Marriott Hong Kong: Handcrafted Timepieces including Patek Philippe and Rolex

Shot at the Christie’s flagship office in New York City’s Rockefeller Center, the video series will feature custom content captured exclusively for JW Marriott, including behind-the-scenes interviews with top Christie’s Specialists, tailored to the passions of hotel guests.  In these 1-2 minute videos, Specialists will provide their expertise in the art of appraisal, purchase, preservation, and more.  The “Conversations with Christie’s” videos will have a multi-platform release on brand channels and Marriott Traveler, Marriott International’s online publication, in early September.

“We originally launched our partnership with Christie’s in order to deliver enriching experiences around art and culture at JW properties around the world,” says Mitzi Gaskins, Vice President, Luxury Brand Management & Guest Experience at Marriott International. “More than five successful years later, we are excited to introduce ‘Conversations with Christie’s,’ which speaks to the personal interests and passions of both guests and Christie’s clients.”

“The ‘Conversations with Christie’s’ series provides a unique insight into the world of collecting and auctions through the eyes of several leading experts,” said Lydia Fenet, International Director of Strategic Partnerships at Christie’s.  “The series is a fitting tribute to build upon Christie’s long standing partnership with JW Marriott, which engages audiences of both brands through the arts and culture.”
