The Peninsula Bangkok is expanding its Family Programme, making it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or short vacation. An exclusive partnership with premium Norwegian baby brand, Stokke, provides a range of furniture and baby gear for families staying in a suite – the only hotel in Bangkok to offer this comfort and convenience to young travellers. CuratedPeninsula Academy activities, such as a Kinetic Art Class, Junior Chef Experience and Thai Martial Arts Class, provide unique ways to explore the Thai capital and keep the whole family engaged on holiday. Whilst staying at The Peninsula Bangkok, families can also embark on a Scavenger Huntthrough the hotel, jump aboard the green Peninsula tuk-tuk for a ride through Bangkok, or take a rice barge cruise to see the temples and city landmarks along the Chao Phraya River.
Travelling with babies and toddlers can be a daunting task for families, and theStokke V.I.B. (Very Important Baby) Experience anticipates those needs with the Stokke Homes Collection of bespoke amenities that eliminate the stress of packing. The experience includes a Stokke Sleepi Crib and Changer Stokke Care, a Tripp Trapp highchair and a Stokke Steps Bouncer. For young babies, a Stokke Flexi Bath and newborn support kit makes bath time more fun. Upon arrival from the airport, families need not worry about bringing a car seat or stroller if they book the V.I.B Airport Experience, which includes a car transfer outfitted with the Stokke Xplory stroller and Stokke iZiGo car seat.
When venturing out of the hotel, a Stokke Scoot Urban stroller makes exploring Bangkok’s cultural sites, kids’ attractions and shopping districts more comfortable and enjoyable for the whole family. All Stokke products are offered to suite guests, which are bookable upon request and subject to availability.
Engaging the minds of young children is a concern for parents on holiday. New Peninsula Academy activities entertain all guests and provide fun-filled insights into Thai culture. Folding paper or bamboo leaves into fish shapes is a traditional Thai folk art dating back to the days when children enjoyed simple leisure pursuits. The Peninsula Bangkok revives this timeless pastime in partnership with Thai artist Jirayu Koo. The Thai Kinetic Art class for parents and children aged 6-12 years enables families to create their own Thai paper artworks, share local snacks, and enjoy the uplifting pleasures of an ancient art in the Thai capital.
Children love to eat delicious pastries, and the Junior Chef Experienceteaches young guests the joys of pastry making. Hosted by The Peninsula Bangkok’s Pastry Chef, this creative class enables children to learn the basic skills of mixing, stirring, kneading, spreading and pouring as they handcraft their own cookies, brownies or cupcakes.
Famous around the world, Muay Thai kickboxing originated as a martial art and is a popular exercise pursuit across Thailand. The Thai Martial Arts Class is a perfect bonding activity for fathers and sons aged 14 years and above, who can learn the basic techniques from a Muay Thai expert, and practice their new skills together amid the beautiful hotel’s garden overlooking the Chao Phraya River.
A themed Scavenger Hunt transports the whole family on a fun journey of discovery through the hotel. Guests follow an interactive trail starting from the traditional Chinese door lions at the hotel entrance. Family adventurers meet the uniformed Peninsula Pageboys and view the hotel’s classic Rolls-Royce before hunting through the tropical gardens, restaurant kitchens and landscaped pool area. En route, they must solve clues related to the hotel’s Thai artworks, architecture and amenities that guide them to the next stage. After completing the Scavenger Hunt, children are rewarded with a homemade ice cream, along with an unforgettable family memory from The Peninsula Bangkok.
