Commune’s Joie de Vivre collection will for the first time expand outside of the USA, bringing its boutique brand of playfulness and personality to Nha Trang, a lively seaside town on the south central coast of Vietnam, dotted with fishing villages, white sand beaches, hidden coves and a prime spot for scuba diving.

This amazing development by Hado Group, encompasses five charming colonial-style heritage buildings that once served as the summer residences of Vietnam’s last emperor, Bao Dai. Nestled amid lush greenery atop a hill, the buildings overlook panoramic views of Nha Trang Bay and are envisioned as an enchanting haven housing 155 villas and suites.

Sonkim Land Vietnam has commissioned two brand Alila properties, one in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s energetic centre of commerce, and the port city of Phan Thiet, the capital of Binh Thuan province on the southeast coast, famous for its seafood, fish sauce and dragon fruit farms.

"After several false starts in Vietnam we are pleased to finally have found two good partners with whom we share a vision for expansion in the country,” said Mark Edleson, President – Asia, Commune Hotels & Resorts. “The sites are uniquely situated and we are working with the developers to create special properties showcasing the destinations and following the sound environmental standards that we are known for."

Alila Ho Chi Minh City will offer an urban escape in the heart of Ho Chi Minh’s District 1, the city’s bustling financial and commercial hub, and a stone’s throw from the landmark Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon. The 10-storey property will comprise 80 to 90 rooms, complemented by stylish amenities including a rooftop bar, a curated restaurant at street level, swimming pool, gym and Spa Alila. A 4.5-hour drive and a world away from Ho Chi Minh City, Alila Phan Thiet will deliver brand Alila’s cool sophistication to this seaside resort with 80 suites and 20 to 30 pool villas, a signature authentic restaurant, beach club, wedding pavilion, events centre and Spa Alila, all within a pristine beachfront setting.

"We are delighted to bring our first brand Joie de Vivre and Alila into Vietnam with these excellent locations. There is tremendous growth potential in the Vietnamese tourism industry as the country continues to establish itself as a leading destination in South East Asia," said Frederic Simon, CEO - Asia, Commune Hotels & Resorts.
