This is a press release selected by our editorial committee and published online for free on 2015-12-16
For three years, a large-scale renovation programme has been carried out from property to property, with a budget of 210 million euros spread across the various resorts. Iconic Barrière Resorts including Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic, Hôtel Barrière Le Gray d’Albion Cannes, Le Royal, L’Hermitage La Baule and L'Hôtel du Golf Deauville have been redesigned so far.
For 2016, luxury will be reinvented at Barrière with elegance taking centre stage. The Group is undergoing further changes in 2016, with two major events in the pipeline: the renovation of Le Normandy and the opening of a luxury hotel in Courchevel, Hôtel Barrière Les Neiges. Interior designer and decorator Nathalie Ryan has been selected to complete these two projects. Her collaboration with the Group began in 2010 with the creation of the Dior Suite at Le Majestic Cannes. Her work on Le Normandy and Le Royal Deauville is inspired by the same high standards: 400 square metres of elegance and French style using the finest and most precious materials. Her aim: to respect and preserve the buildings' historic spirit, features and character, while creating a perfect balance of contemporary and traditional décor.
Le Normandy's transformation reaches completionBuilt in 1912, Le Normandy, located in the town centre, is one of the Barrière group's emblems. On 1st November 2015, this majestic building closed for the first time since its inauguration, for large-scale renovation work.
A new Le Normandy is underway: transformed, surprising, and with new offers. The 'Anouk Aimée' Suite will become the 'Un Homme et Une F' Suite. And the famous Toile de Jouy immortalised by Claude Lelouch in 1966 has been modernised in harmonious colours in all of the rooms. This classic style is also peppered with a few contemporary touches, yet every care has been taken not to alter the hotel's historic character.
With the partial renovation of L'Hôtel du Golf and Le Royal Deauville, set for completion in 2016 and 2017 respectively, the Resort Barrière Deauville's status as the greatest French Resort is confirmed as it brings all its expertise and business excellence to this legendary destination.
A new luxury hotel opening in CourchevelIn 2016, the Barrière group will unveil its new setting in Courchevel at the foot of the famous Bellecôte ski slope: Hôtel Barrière Les Neiges. The Group’s first mountain hotel, Les Neiges, has ambitions to be an ultra-luxurious hotel. In the heart of Courchevel 1850, it boasts 42 luxury Rooms and Suites across 7 floors, a 1000 m2 Spa Diane Barrière (the largest in the resort), a cinema room, a ski room at the foot of the slopes, a "Petit VIP" kids' club, 3 restaurants including Le Fouquet’s brasserie, an indoor bar and a large terrace on the slopes. All this makes the hotel an exceptional, stylish and authentic destination. Everything has been designed using understated and discreet natural materials - wood and stone - to create a warm atmosphere based on a colour palette inspired by variations in the sky at sunrise and sunset. The hotel is entirely inspired by the atmospheres and materials of the mountains, revisited in a luxury, contemporary setting.
