In his new role, Stefan Athmann will continue to oversee the daily business at Regent Berlin, and he will additionally have responsibility for the strategic direction of the luxury hotel group as well as pipeline projects.
Regent Hotels & Resorts with its head offices in Taiwan is expanding, currently focusing on Europe. With the opening of the Regent Porto Montenegro last year, the group has for the first time implemented a new concept that will broaden its existing portfolio; building smaller hotels that offer a higher degree of privacy and a more intimate atmosphere.
“Over the past few years, Stefan Athmann has proven his leadership skills as well as his loyalty to the group. We are certain that he will succeed in his new role as Area General Manager Europe especially given his 20 year-long expertise in the hospitality industry”, says Andre Scholl, Group Senior Vice President of Operations of the Regent Hotels & Resorts.
During his career, Stefan Athmann has held management positions at hotel groups such as InterContinental, Radisson and Kempinski. He gained his first experience at Regent Berlin in 2005 as Director of Sales & Marketing before being appointed General Manager at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Belfast where he stayed for two years. In 2009, Stefan returned to his home country as General Manager of Regent’s 5-star-superior-hotel at Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt.
