Houston's most historic hotel, The Sam Houston, today joined Curio - A Collection by Hilton, Hilton Worldwide's growing global collection of distinctive hotels for passionate travelers seeking local discovery and authentic experiences. Built in 1924 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Sam Houston provides guests with authentic hospitality, personalized service and contemporary amenities in a historic setting. Located in the heart of downtown Houston, the landmark hotel is near Houston's Theater District, major corporations, sports and entertainment venues, urban parks and some of the area's most popular places to shop and dine.

The iconic 10-story building celebrates Texas' distinct style complemented by chic and trendy décor. The hotel offers 100 spacious guest rooms and suites that pamper guests with lavish residential luxury and modern-day conveniences. Contemporary amenities include an ergonomic work area, a 40-inch LED TV with full HD channel lineup, a Keurig coffee maker and a sleek, granite-walled bathroom with an expansive glass shower. Guests also have complimentary access to the 24-hour fitness center, featuring state-of-the-art cardio and weight training equipment. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel's guest rooms and public areas.

Since the hotel first opened in the roaring twenties, various businesses have occupied the first floor of the building, including a barber shop, a clothing store, a coffee house and a bar. Today, the first floor of The Sam Houston boasts a lively atmosphere with two premier dining options, *17 Restaurant and The Sam Bar. At *17 Restaurant, diners step into a "retro glamour" scene where an innovative, curated menu centers on seasonal farm-to-fork principles. Guests can also enjoy tempting plates and hand-crafted cocktails at The Sam Bar surrounded by one-of-a-kind décor paying homage to the hotel's history - including vintage matches, postcards and flyers.
The Sam Houston offers 3,000 square feet of stunning, one-of-a-kind event spaces, making it the ideal venue for a successful conference, glamorous cocktail reception, exhibition or dream wedding. Veranda by *17 is an award-winning private event space that is well-equipped for everything from corporate events to elegant weddings for up to 215 guests. For intimate soirées and corporate meetings, The Raven Room and Mockingbird Boardroom offer the flexibility of a variety of configurations.
