The location of Baden-Baden has a special significance. The "Europ", as the Europäischer Hof is affectionately known, has helped to define the company in many ways and provided crucial impetuses for Steigenberger's corporate culture. It still embodies a number of essential Steigenberger values down to the present day in the form of tradition, innovation, German hospitality and the very highest standards of service at an international level.

After 85 years of faithful service to the Steigenberger Hotel Group, the Europäischer Hof is now to undergo a process of rejuvenation. An extensive modernisation and renovation programme will upgrade it to Grand Hotel Standard and enable it to join the ranks of the Steigenberger flagship properties of the Frankfurter Hof, the Parkhotel in Düsseldorf and the Grandhotel in Brussels. Reopening is scheduled for 2017.

The new Mainz-based owner of the hotel, Europäischer Hof Kaiserallee Immobilien 1 GmbH & Co. KG, has agreed a long-term management agreement with the Steigenberger Hotel Group.

"We are very happy to be able to continue such constructive cooperation over a period of many years," said Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG. "Baden-Baden is a key location for us, because this is the very spot at which our history began. The aim of our corporate strategy is to pursue international expansion whilst emphasising our roots and our rich tradition."

Steigenberger Hotels AG is one of Europe's leading hotel companies. From its Head Office in Germany, the Steigenberger Group operates 107 hotels on three continents including 17 properties which are under construction or at the planning stage.

Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts includes some of the most prestigious hotels in Europe, such as the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof and the Steigenberger Parkhotel in Düsseldorf. InterCityHotel is a medium-price brand that offers 38 hotels located in city centres and at airports. "Jaz in the City" is a new creative concept that will be launched in Amsterdam in September 2015.
