Worldhotels, a leading group of independent hotels worldwide, is further strengthening its sales force by appointing Markus Mueller as its new Vice President Global Sales. In addition to maximising the group’s existing global sales efforts, Mueller will work on developing new business strategies for its almost 500 hotels worldwide and will also oversee Worldhotels’ ‘Check 5’ programme, a bundle of initiatives designed to help its affiliates build their sales intelligence.
Markus Mueller, who joined the group on Monday, will be based at the Worldhotels headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. He will report into Geoff Andrew, the group’s Chief Operating Officer, who states: “We are very glad to welcome Markus in our group. With his proven track record in international sales and marketing, Markus understands how to drive local and global business and will further expand our sales footprint.”
Markus Mueller is a sales expert with extensive experience working with global hotel groups and chains. Most recently before joining Worldhotels, Mueller was Vice President Sales & Marketing Asia for Moevenpick Hotels & Resorts in Bangkok, where he was responsible for all aspects of brand marketing and sales for 18 new hotel projects and eight operating hotels. He has also served as Head of Brand Relaunch at InterContinentalHotels Group, where he managed a global brand revamp for 126 Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels in Asia Pacific.
Commenting on his new role, Markus Mueller says: “I am excited to join Worldhotels as they are increasing their sales focus. I am looking forward to working together with the global team on developing new business opportunities for the Worldhotels affiliates as well as taking the existing ones to the next level.”
