Hilton Worldwide has reached an agreement to convert a 203-guestroom hotel in the greater Venice region under its upscale DoubleTree by Hilton brand. Upon completion of the conversion in November this year, the hotel will be known as DoubleTree by Hilton Venice North, and join three DoubleTree by Hilton hotels operating in the Italian market. The hotel will operate under a franchise agreement with owner DHotels.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide, said, "The enduring appeal of Venice as an international leisure destination makes this hotel an exciting addition to our burgeoning portfolio in Italy. Investor confidence is showing signs of improvement in the Italian market, and the introduction of the new DoubleTree by Hilton Venice North alongside our Hilton Molino Stucky Venice and Hilton Garden Inn Venice Mestre San Giuliano will significantly enhance the available upscale accommodation on offer in the city. Host to major events including the renowned Biennale, Venice attracts a broad range of international visitors and large scale meetings activity, and there is a need for high quality hotel stock to support this demand."

With 203 guest rooms, including 18 suites, the hotel is poised to capture the attention of both business and leisure travelers. Venice is one of Italy's most popular destinations, second only to Rome. The city is renowned for its architectural diversity and beauty and unique network of canals.

Venice has long been a flourishing trade centre, and a number of large corporations and manufacturers have chosen the city as a regional headquarters. The hotel will cater to business guests, boasting a modular conference centre arranged over 1,300 square metres, with an additional 510 metres of breakout work space. Banquet space for up to 360 guests is designed to welcome large scale conferences and events and guests will be able to take advantage of a fitness centre, outdoor pool, sauna and Turkish baths.

John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton, said, "It's exciting to bring this hotel into our portfolio. DoubleTree by Hilton Venice North is a stylish addition to the brand, a hotel that will enhance our existing offer in Italy, which includes hotels and resorts in Milan, Lecce and Olbia."

The hotel was designed by renowned architects DHK Architects, Marco Piva and Bam Design and fits DoubleTree by Hilton's chic aesthetic with sleek exterior and interior designs. DoubleTree by Hilton is renowned for its CARE service culture, empowering each of its team members to "Create A Rewarding Experience," which starts with the presentation of a warm chocolate chip cookie upon arrival.

François Droulers, owner, DHotels, said, "We are thrilled to partner with Hilton Worldwide. The DoubleTree by Hilton brand marries perfectly the contemporary feel of our award-winning hotel. This partnership will not only enhance the hotel's performance but will enrich our professionalism and culture of our personnel, resulting in a high quality hospitality experience for our guests".

Guests will be able to explore numerous local leisure attractions in the vicinity of the hotel, including the 27-hole Golf Club Villa Condulmer, which is less than one kilometre away, a number of Prosecco wineries and the nearby designer shopping outlet of Noventa di Piave. Venice airport is a five minute drive away, and is situated eight kilometres from the hotel.

DoubleTree by Hilton Venice North is located at Via Bonfadini, Mogliano Veneto, Italy. Media can access additional information at news.doubletree.com.
