DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District, located in the heart of the "Ancient City," the first permanent European settlement in the continental U.S. Formerly a Ramada Inn, the five-story hotel has been completely redesigned and renovated in the city's traditional Old Spanish style while featuring modern updates and amenities throughout. Within easy walking distance of St. Augustine's many cultural and historical attractions, and just 50 miles from the Jacksonville International Airport, the 97-room hotel offers leisure, group and business travelers the comforts of home blended with features that convey the city's proud Spanish heritage. DoubleTree by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District is owned by 116 San Marco LLC and managed by Summit Hospitality Management.

"Our commitment to offering guests the 'little things' that can make all the difference during a hotel stay is embodied throughout the beautiful new DoubleTree by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District," said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide leisure and business visitors a comfortable stay that conveys the quiet charms of historic St. Augustine while offering the globally-recognized service of our fast-growing brand."

DoubleTree by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District - the brand's first property in the greater Jacksonville area - opens to guests with modern luxuries complemented by old-world Spanish design features, including wrought iron, distressed brick-look arches, warm, earthy color tones and artwork depicting iconic St. Augustine scenery throughout the hotel. Stylish and spacious guest rooms - which either overlook St. Augustine's quiet streets or the hotel's pool area - boast a well-lit workspace with an ergonomic chair, 42-inch HDTV with premium HD channels and the inviting Sweet Dreams bed.

The Oak Room Restaurant and Lounge delivers enticing American cuisine with a unique St. Augustine flair and locally-sourced ingredients. The menu features signature dishes such as Port Wine & Cherry Lacquered Duck Breast and the restaurant's homemade Datil Pepper Jam with caramelized onions and bacon available to accompany any dish. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, as well as in-room dining for anyone seeking the comfort of a guestroom retreat. An onsite 24-hour market and gift shop is also available for guests seeking fresh grab-and-go options.

Guests will also enjoy a range of complimentary services and amenities, including a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor heated swimming pool surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, a 24-hour business center, parking and WiFi access throughout the hotel's public spaces and guest rooms.

DoubleTree by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District is also the perfect setting to host a successful business meeting, wedding reception or social event for up to 200 people within the hotel's 2,700 square feet of versatile meeting and event space. The luxurious Anastasia Ballroom offers pristine city views, and the more intimate Laurel Room is ideal for hospitality events or small corporate gatherings. Each features the latest audio visual technology and modern sound systems. The hotel offers the Meetings Simplified by DoubleTree by Hilton package from $40.00 per person, which includes the meeting room, basic meeting WiFi, meeting room supplies including a flipchart, markers, extension and power cord, and all day non-alcoholic beverage service.

"DoubleTree by Hilton has a well-earned reputation for offering an experience that is desired by guests worldwide. We are delighted to be part of the DoubleTree by Hilton family and to be providing the brand's culture of service to each and every guest," said Aaron Jensen, general manager, DoubleTree by Hilton St. Augustine Historic District.

A visit starts with a warm chocolate chip cookie, a simple touch that sets the tone to create a rewarding experience for a guest's entire stay. Guests will also enjoy DoubleTree by Hilton brand exclusives, including an assortment of gourmet in-room tea and coffee choices from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a refreshing array of CITRON body care products by Crabtree & Evelyn and an industry-recognized service culture built around the idea of CARE, which stands for Create a Rewarding Experience for guests, team members and the community.

DoubleTree by Hilton participates in the Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program, and Hilton HHonors members will be able to earn and redeem points with their stay. To mark the opening, Hilton HHonors guests will be able to earn double points for stays completed through January 31, 2015 which include a stay on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Based on availability, Gold and Diamond members will enjoy upgrades to the exclusive Hilton HHonors floor. Additionally, Diamond Hilton HHonors guests will enjoy complimentary continental breakfasts during stays and Gold Hilton HHonors guests will have the option of complimentary breakfast or bonus Hilton HHonors points.
