His knowledge of China and other Asian markets will be of particular value at a time when the Mauritian hotel industry is seeking to attract more visitors from those parts of the world.
Jeremie graduated from the University of Law at Paris II Pantheon-Assas and followed up his first degree with an MBA, specialising in Hotel Management, from the Vatel Institute in Paris. He started his career in Vietnam in 1999 before moving on to Cambodia in 2002 when he was appointed General Manager of the Noria Hotel. After his success in this boutique hotel, in 2005 he moved on to take up the post of General Manager of Laos' leading hotel, La Residence Phou Vao. 2009 saw him take over the management of another Orient Express hotel, the Napasai in Thailand, and then the Jimbaran Puri Bali Resort by Orient Express in Indonesia.
Before moving to Mauritius, Jeremie was General Manager of the Wanda Realm Hotel in Changzhou city near Shanghai, preparing it for its recent opening. The Wanda Group is one of the leading companies in China, currently planning to open a luxury hotel in London and planning to do the same in all the main capital cities around the world.
Jean Pierre Auriol, the Area General Manager of LUX* Le Morne and Tamassa, has warmly welcomed Jeremie’s arrival.
“I am very pleased to welcome Jeremie as General Manager at LUX* Le Morne. I am confident that, with his strong experience in luxury boutique operations, he will successfully lead the team to bring LUX* Le Morne to the next level.”
Jeremie himself is looking forward to his new challenge. “I am delighted to join LUX* Resorts and Hotels as GM of LUX* Le Morne. So many companies claim to be different and unique but I do believe that LUX* truly is; hence the reason why I am so happy to be part of the team. I look forward to continuing the great work Jean-Pierre Auriol has done at LUX* Le Morne and to add my personal touch. One of my favourite Chinese proverbs concerning hospitality is 'Make happy those who are near – and those who are far will come.' My management style is very much driven by this kind of concept.”
One advantage Jeremie will have is that LUX* Le Morne is one of Mauritius' most attractive resorts, a luxury five-star property with the kind of charm more often associated with a boutique hotel. As well as all the LUX* special features, including a delightful spa. It lies in a superb setting between the UNESCO World Heritage site of Morne Mountain to one side and miles of sandy beaches and a beautiful blue lagoon to the other. To LUX* Resorts & Hotels’ delight, it has recently been awarded TripAdvisors' Traveller's Award, which honours the world's best hotels, chosen by those who know them best; travellers themselves.
